    Thank you! ?
I applied for September 2021 in Windsor and January 2022 in Peel. I was accepted for September and my January application is still processing.
My average for my last two years is an 81.4, stats 92, research methods 88.
My application had 9245 hours of experience. I have worked as a Caseworker at Victim Services for almost 2 years and volunteered there as a Crisis Responder for 10 months.
I have also been working as a PSW for almost 4 years. Other relevant experience include Friendly Visitor through CAS and Volunteer as well as Volunteer Coordinator for Autism Ontario.
Not sure if these hours ended up counting but I did submit my volunteer position as an Assistant Dance Teacher, Western Foot Patrol, and a paid summer position from high school at a Natural Medicine Office doing research for a newsletter.
I'm not sure if this made a difference in my application but I did include 8 workshops and 16 certificates with my application. Most of them were just Certificates of Achievement.

I received an acceptance to Windsor's Regualr Track MSW For Working Professionals at 2:46pm today! I submitted my application April 8th so it was processed pretty quickly!
I have seen a Facebook group for the regular 2 year MSW program - has one been made for the MSWwp?

I just want to say you are all amazing. I both dread and love Fridays. I dread no news weekends, but it also gives us freedom from refresh! Happy Friday everyone!

With respect that is quite a negative and verging on rude outlook. While I haven't read every page of this forum it seems like people have been very positive and supportive of one another. At the same time, no one has posted their personal statements so it is impossible to determine someone's 'WOW' factor as you put it. I find that kind of judgement pretty harsh. I believe everyone here has worked very hard towards their goal, but everyone is at different places along their journey towards that goal.
Personally, I applied back in 2016 with what I thought to be a good amount of experience along with a solid application and I got rejected from every school I applied to. Over the past few years, I logged a lot more hours and worked hard to get where I am today.
In this forum just like in life, we have no idea the path other people have walked. And any comment, regardless of its original intent, that minimizes people's efforts and disvalues what should be a celebration of their hard work is not okay in my books.
I agree that this kind of forum can have a negative impact on personal well-being as it becomes easy to compare ones-self to others and make it seem more like a competition. For me, it's important to recognize that different schools are looking for different things based on their values and mission statements. And there are grossly more applicants than there are spots UofT and Laurier for example last year were only able to accept 17% of the applicant pool.
I believe its important as future social workers for us to know our own limits, so if you feel this group isn't a positive space for you then follow that instinct. However, that doesn't mean it is okay to discredit other's accomplishments.
I wish you all the best where ever your journey takes you.

    Hi there,
I have been stressing about applying to MSW programs for a while now, so I thought I would make a forum so we can stress together! Feel free to ask questions. Hopefully we can help each other out and make this process a lot easier.
Good luck to everyone applying for 2019!

Hi all! Good luck on your applications. Just wanted to drop a line and say if you have questions about the York 1 year program, I’ve just started and am happy to try to answer them.
I can also talk about St Thomas’s 15 month BSW!
Let me know and good luck. I know how much of a nightmare this process can be (holy shiiiiit) but remember that an acceptance or a rejection does not determine who you ARE, nor how good you could be as a social worker. Most of the time it’s a shitty numbers game. I know that isn’t that helpful, but you have many months of stress left to go - try not to burn out on it too early!!
