  1. Hey everyone, I'm currently based in the UK and there's a possibility to for me to do a Graduate Diploma in Law(Conversion course). I'm wondering if that qualifies me to apply for an LLM in America. I might return to the US sometime in the future so I'm just checking my options.
  2. Hello, I'm got a CELTA and plan on teaching in Europe for a few years. However, later I'd be interested in moving back to American and teaching in public or private schools. Anybody knows if a Master in Education or Masters in Teaching would help? I know there's a whole lot of accreditation and certificates involve but I'm wondering want would be the fastest/easiest option.

Hi, Could explain yourself a bit more? What do you mean by this? Is almost everybody in class in their 20's?
  4. Hi guys, My Story I'm currently working full-time as an English teacher, I'm only work in the mornings. I have free times(spare money) in the afternoon and at night. My goal My goal is to learn how to write 'literate lyrics' like someone like Ian Curtis, David Bowie or Tony Asher wrote. I have friends who are musicians and my ultimate goal is to release a 'concept album', a year from now. Which course do you guys think I programs, courses or degrees should I aim at? I took a few creative writing classes in college but most of them were about writing prose or journals. Or even about our teacher's newly released book. I want a course specific to my goals and which can also give me that depth that I require for instance, I want to familiarize myself with authors such as J.G Ballard, T.S Elliot, Borges and Burroughs. I don't mind intensive courses which will help me. I rather not do anymore standardize testing since I would waste my time studying for that. Any way, Thanks a lot
  5. Hey everyone, I noticed a trend were many American PhD grads from the Humanities and Social sciences move to Europe to take an academic job. For instance, I met a bunch of NYU students(Philosophy and Political science Phd's) who couldn't get a job in America but where able to move to Uppsala university and get an assistant professor tenure track job. I have also met another student who got a PHD in Psychology and moved to Tilburg University and another who works at Institut Jean Nicod. I wonder if this is relatively common for people who graduate with a phd from top 15 universities(bare in mind that its only 8 people per program and a lot of people drop out of their phd) or is it something rare that happens in exceptional cases. For instance, I'm currently getting my CELTA certificate and with it, it's easier to get jobs abroad(Asia) that it is in America so most people end up going abroad.
  6. Hey guys, Anyone has experienced with choosing between self-employment or academia? Can anyone weight the pro's and con's? Who might each path be right for?
  7. Hey guys, Most likely I'll be moving to Europe permanently due to family reasons, I will have european citizenship so that won't be a problem. However, where can I learn more about studying law in Europe? I currently hold a Bachelors degree from an American university in Philosophy and I really don't want to start from scratch.
