I was looking and brainstorming and have used the binder option. So I suggest that you get one big binder and a bunch of those three-hole-punched folder/dividers. Put the folders into the binder and organize it all that way. Total life saver for me. For more info on binders, check this.
I started off with spiral notebooks, but then I would always have these handouts and printouts that would always fall out because I'd just shove them in.
