Yes, in a very similar situation! I've heard back from two schools, one rejection, one interview. Still waiting on five schools (including my top choice). I've seen a couple of posts about other schools I've applied to which has had me worried. My girlfriend has been with me through all of the struggles of applying and now waiting. She is in law enforcement and plans to potentially transfer with me to wherever I end up so it's a huge waiting game for us. I know it's how the whole process works but I wish I would hear something soon! Some days I wake up optimistic and others I just sit and contemplate what I am going to do if this year doesn't pan out for me.

On a side note, congrats about your proposal!! That's amazing, this must be a fantastic part of your life! Try not to focus on all the unknowns! I'm sure it will all work out. I've looked at your website a few times lol, I love your work.

We'll all get through this! Even if that means applying again next year! Just think of all the possibilities this year could bring for our work!

    Hi,
I have been following this for a hot sec, thought I would share:
Was accepted to UW Madison last week, but just got the letter that I didn't receive any funding (does anybody know anything about etiquette re: leveraging other offers? I have a solid fully-funded offer from another school, but UW is my top choice & there is 0 chance I will accept their offer if I can't afford it). Have a Cranbrook interview on March 15th that I am very excited about, and a CCA interview tomorrow. Waiting to hear back from 4 other programs.
    TY and Good Luck!
    :')

Well, had my interview with Columbia this afternoon. It only lasted 10 minutes but they ask the pretty basic questions. I'm so nervous!

Over the moon to be offered a place at Tyler painting, it seemed such a long shot! Are any others for Tyler on here?
Email said the dean has a fund for incoming MFA students to visit regardless of distance, but I may be taking the biscuit being from Ireland ???

Is anyone else in the same boat of radio silence?
Feeling like I should start thinking of backup plans and looking for schools my fiancé ( I recently proposed ?) could attend instead of waiting to see where I might end up? Ugh, the waiting sucks because she’s been such a sport about everything but she really wants to keep studying and I don’t want to hinder her. She’s moving to the states with me regardless it’s just frustrating for everything to be up in the air. ?

    FYI
University of Buffalo MFA extended application deadline to February 20 (good to full funding) TWO year program Bowling Green State University MFA application deadline is February 18 (full funding for all TA's) TWO year program SACI-Florence MFA application deadline is March 1 (expensive, no funding, if lucky maybe a few thousands for a few scholarships) TWO year program Radford University MFA application deadline is April 1 for Fall 20019 and until November for Spring 2020 (no funding offered) THREE year program Winthrop University MFA application deadline is March 1 for Fall 20019 and September 1 for Spring 2020 (some funding and some TA's) 60 credits total I did not apply to any of these programs, and the thought of asking my recommenders to go through the ringer again makes me cringe so I am sure that I will not apply to any more programs for this cycle, but I thought that it might be of interest. FEEL FREE TO ADD NAMES OF OTHER MFA PROGRAMS with open application deadlines.

i interviewed with them this afternoon! also my first one. i'd def say somewhat informal, they only asked a few questions (as opposed to a 15 question list from another school i saw earlier on this thread)---however they also mentioned that they were behind on their schedule (and texted me to let me know beforehand) so things were about 15 min instead of 20. they asked why i wanted to get an MFA, why PNCA, and what i thought/hoped my first year might look like. i think there was another one but it's hard to remember already, lmao.
they definitely had my stuff on hand because they mentioned my essay and CV and portfolio, and brought up a few elements of their programs that i might like---it was definitely an interview, but less rapid-fire questions and more of a conversational element to it that i appreciated. and i liked what they had to say quite a bit! after that, they wanted to know if i had any questions (i mostly asked about TAing and what kind of facilities were accessible to MFA students because they'd answered my earlier questions about studios and structure) and said there was so much more they wanted to get to, but they had to keep rolling. overall, i think it went well!
i'm interviewing with emily carr tmrw and SFAI next week....so far those are the only ones i've heard back from! i also applied to UCLA, risd, pratt, and cca.
if it helps---i went to risd for undergrad and they were the last school to get back to me. it was pretty late, i want to say near the end of march. the process is different for grad because, i think, it's departmental---but i do know they like to take their time!

I've been quietly checking out this forum all week and it's seriously kept me sane, thanks everyone!
So far, I've been accepted into UC Davis and rejected from Yale.
Does anyone know anything about Stanford? I'm in agony over the waiting...

It was for MICA Rinehart School of  Sculpture. I think it went okay! It was just one interviewer and she asked mainly about my subject matter and pieces. She asked what I thought my most successful and least successful pieces were. She also asked the standard why do you want to go to grad school, why our school, etc. At the end she asked me what other schools I applied to and what would be the determining factor on my decision of which school I would pick if accepted to multiple programs.
I am however beating myself up a little bit about one of my answers. I told myself in the beginning of this process that I was going to be honest, even if the answer wasn't favorable. I was asked to further explain why I want to go to graduate school and part of my response detailed how in undergrad I sequestered myself from my class mates and tended to work from home. I went on to talk about how at this point in my life I really would like to be part of an artist community, and work around my peers in order to grow. I think she might have been disappointed in that response, as I showed her that at times I have been less than outgoing. I'm hoping it doesn't weigh too heavy on the final decision. Other then that I think it went alright, I can't change it now so I guess I will be content about the interview.

Good luck to everyone with interviews and those who have already been accepted! This is getting real and is very intimidating but so exciting!

The MFA grad advisor attempted to call me, but instead received a UT Austin Painting acceptance via email!  Nominated for a recruitment fellowship through the University, which includes a full scholarship, free health insurance, and a more than a generous living stipend. The email goes on to mention that their decision was unanimous, which make me feel truly wanted at their program.
