I am glad to see I'm not alone! I actually sent an email to my director today. I had initially emailed him in late February, received no timeline, figured for SURE by now I would've heard...never did. I sent a really basic email thanking him and letting him know the school/program was still my top priority, and that I understood if he had no updates, but felt I should communicate that I'm still committed to hearing back from them. I feel a little better now because the waiting was getting to me. Could be all the way between May-June if some people drop off late. Keep me updated on your waitlist!

An alternative account. I emailed the place I was waitlisted on Tuesday. Then, they emailed me back to schedule an interview for Wednesday (they mentioned in the email that they were glad I reached out and showed I was still interested) and we had the interview. Wednesday night I was accepted. So moral of the story, I dont think there's any harm in reaching out now to ask about your status and let them know if you have the intention to go there if you get off the waitlist.

I would probably give it until Monday. Let them have the week to sort out things. I know it feels like it's been forever, but the deadline for funded offers was only 4 days ago, and if they are going to make new offers, they still might have to go through the same paperwork and vetting process with the graduate school and everything before they send out anything to waitlist people. They would've only started that process on Tuesday, once the deadline passed and they were sure about who had accepted what. Then I would simply say that I would like to know the status of my application, or something like that. Keep it simple. Just ask if you are still on the waitlist, or if the cohort has been filled. Good luck!

I got off the waitlist at last!! I received the offer from my dream school on April 12th, right before the April 15th deadline. It is kind of hard to refuse the professor who gave me the offer from another school. Anyway, always have faith and do not give up on hope!! Good luck with everyone else!

Anyone still waiting and hoping to get off the waitlist for their top choice? Very nerve-wrecking since we're just shy of 1 week away from the deadline. Best of luck to everyone!

Happy news to share on my end...I got off the waitlist!! Official offer came through today and I am over the moon with excitement and relief and disbelief. There were many times I thought it wouldn't pan out, and I was mentally preparing to put myself through a second attempt, but it all did work out with time!
Thanks to everyone here for all of the camaraderie and peer support on this crazy heck of a ride.  You all are amazing, and I know everyone here will go out and do so much good for the world. For those on the wait-list: hang in there!! Nothing makes the waiting easier or any less agonizing, but I can now say from experience that people really do get off the wait-list, so just know that not all is over yet!  The finish line is near - as April 15th inches closer, I hope everyone hears back good news soon and that we all end up in the right place. ?

I was waitlisted at my top program and they didn't give a ranking but said the waitlist is short and my chances of getting in were "quite strong." Of course I have no idea what that means, numbers wise, but it was reassuring to hear he thought the odds were good. It's just so stressful to have to keep up the waiting game! He said he thought for a few weeks but it could be as long as April 15th!! Anyways, just wanted to commiserate with people who understood the pain!

I would, yes, if I liked the program and the people there. I figure between the stipend and the work there’s not a ton of going out anyway. Location is a factor for me, but more in regards to cost of living. What does it matter if there’s stuff to do if I can’t afford to do it?

I have no helpful advice, but YOU ARE SUCH A ROCKSTAR ❤️❤️ Doing the work to get into grad school is hard. Doing the work with kids is v hard. Doing the work as a single parent is beyond impressive. Congrats x a million.

I’m not very religious but I just pray everyday that someone will inevitably go to another school and that I’ll be accepted off of the waitlist. But it’s still driving me crazy because I want it so bad and have done so much up to this point if that makes sense.

That’s kind of what I’m trying to prep for mentally. Like focusing on odds against me so I’m not completely crushed. But oh my gosh this is insane. If I wake up at night, I’m like TODAY COULD BE THE DAY ?
    oof.

I drove myself crazy for weeks, and I'm at the point now where I've convinced myself I'm waitlisted at best and just am acting as if I need to move on. If I do get an acceptance, it will feel like a wonderful surprise.
    It's... kinda working, kinda not?

Starting to feel very frustrated and discouraged after reading multiple posts in the clinical results recently about not hearing anything until applicants have reached out to the POI and asked about their status. I’m so tempted to take that step myself. This whole process is so cruel and excruciating. Kudos to all that have done this for multiple cycles, I am barely hanging on in my first!

Kimbrough Towers in midtown/downtown is really nice. My best friend lived there for a while, it's less than 15 mins out
The Edison downtown is nice too, I lived there!

Hey-- likewise!  I'm in a similar boat and wanted to share this resource I came across: https://www.researchgate.net/publication/311949630_A_Scientist-Practitioner_Analysis_of_the_Best_APA-Accredited_School_Psychology_Doctoral_Programs

To be honest, I doubt I'll end up basing my decision off it, but better to have the information and then decide
