That's amazing! Congratulations! Do you happen to have a sense of whether they sent out all the psychology invites at once or whether there might be some coming?
I emailed Stanford and unfortunately they have sent out all invites.. I didn't tell them my name or the area I applied to, so I guess the whole department is done.

"At this point, the faculty have extended invitations for candidates who were selected to participate in our interview weekend. You have not progressed to the interview stage at this time.
I imagine that this will be disappointing news. Please note that final admissions decisions have not been made, and occasionally the faculty seek to interview additional candidates through separate mechanisms. This is the reason that we do not send out formal admissions decisions to candidates who are not invited to participate in the first round of interviews. That said, historically speaking, such additional interviews are rare."

Thanks for the update. Do you know if all departments sent invitations (social, developmental, cognitive, etc.) or just specific ones?
I asked about the psychology program without specifying an area (didn't even tell them my name or anything), so I'm guessing it's the whole department...

Thanks! I have connections with Dartmouth as well that's why I was a little surprised I didn't receive an invite. I applied to the behavioral neuro specialization. But if you got one from the program director I'm probably SOL.
Don't lose hope yet! In the email I got, it sounds like they haven't worked out all of the details about the interview weekend yet (no information about travel subsidy or hotel address etc.), so maybe they'd send another batch of invitations after everything has been set up...?

I saw two posts on the results page that interview invites were sent out on Friday for Dartmouth Psychological and Brain Sciences program. Does anyone know which area of interest sent out invites? Or was it the whole department?
I got mine from their graduate program director and it sounds like an official invitation (?). But both myself and my recommenders have a lot of personal connections at Dartmouth (one of my recommender graduated from the program director's lab), so I won't be surprised if they haven't sent invitations to others yet. I applied to the Cognitive/Cognitive Neuroscience specialization.

Oh wow I didn't even realize that it wasn't BCC'd. Thanks for the info!
No problem! I thought it was weird too that they didn't BCC us.
It looks like so many RAs in UCLA social neuro labs just happen to be applying for grad schools in the same year... Maybe they have prioritized us just because we are already here. (I'm feeling sorry for everyone else...)

I'm not familiar with how to use gradcafe (just discovered it today), where do the items on the "Results" page come from? I'm wondering whether that 13 figure is credible. Thanks!
I posted that... It's just that I got the interview invitation email and that email was sent to 13 people (I'm assuming they are all interviewees). I'm already in one of the social neuroscience labs as an RA and know a few of these email receivers who are/were also RAs in the social neuroscience labs here.

In US you'd need to ask schools to sponsor you a J-1 visa (type is research scholar), which is the only possible option if you don't have F-1 OPT. Most schools should be able to do it, but some PIs may not know this especially if they haven't had international students/staff before. (Source: I've been working as an RA with J-1 visa after my OPT expired)
