Anyone have any experience with UNL and the "under review" vs "reviewed pending final decision of Graduate chair" debacle?
 

As we approach the holidays, PLEASE remember to engage in self-care and try to take the time to relax!!! ⛄? I know it's a super stressful, anxiety-inducing time for everyone (I'll probably still end up checking my email every day lol) but this is the time to travel, spend time with friends/family, and just do nothing if that's what you need. Having a break from school/work is awesome too. And remember this may be your last opportunity to de-stress and indulge in Netflix binges/good food/having a social life before interview season starts—then things will really be hectic! Almost all my applications say "submitted". Only Tulsa is sent me a mail that it's being reviewed. SIU contacted me about some stuff they need before review.
As bad as I feel for professors because they are at the end of the semester and are trying to churn out as many results as possible, I also feel a little betrayed.
Like why ain't you reviewing yet, fam. Why?

My friends: I know this is a very stressful/uncertain time for all of us, but please stop asking people for their "POIs" on the TGC results page! It's annoying!

It’s because for clinical the applicant pool at times is as many as all the other types combined 

Sometimes I check my email, wait a couple seconds, and then refresh it again just to torment myself! Realistically, I’m aware it’s highly unlikely I hear from any schools before January (applied to Social and I/O). 

Had a meeting with my current PI today and she was checking in on how I was doing emotionally during this waiting game and she goes "I see you checking that stupid website" ?

Every day I wake up and think "Today's the day. I won't check gradcafe. I'm gonna chill" and then somehow I end up here...whoops! Muscle memory ?

The majority of schools do not start reviewing applications until after the end of the semester or after Christmas. I'm not expecting to hear back from any of my schools until the last week of December at the earliest! Patience is key

So I was anxious and decided to do a mass email to be POIs I reached out to over the summer/early fall about my status, here are my mix of results 
Stanford: “We should be done reviewing by mid-January”
NYU: “We are in the middle of reviewing applicants, youll have an update ‘soon’ “
Minnesota: “The applications have filtered our way to us faculty, I will be reviewing them soon. best of luck!” (Glad to know I made the filter haha)
Yale: “Thanks for the update! You’ll hear from me soon”
Michigan: “Expect to hear from me by the end of the week” 
UCSD: “Don’t worry, the other UCs are much faster than us (I referenced how other UCs are sending invites already)”
 

So jealous that people are starting to hear back.... I'm sitting here refreshing my email feeling more nervous every day. Luckily I haven't really seen anyone at the schools I've applied to get interviews yet (except LSU- but that seems like a current student in the lab reached out to them). :/ I'm trying to stay distracted but it's really hard

Just over here quietly freaking out about you awesome peeps and your UCI interviews... (stares at phone, checks email). UCI is one of my top two choices (stares at phone and checks email again 'cos at least 3 seconds have passed)...

My layout is the exact same way. I submitted everything and got an email saying I submitted but no specific status symbol aside for check marks that I submitted everything.
