Hello! New to this website, but I thought I’d share my current interview updates: I have interviews for the developmental programs at Missouri (Jan 25), UT Dallas (Jan 31-Feb 1), GMU (Feb 15), ASU (preliminary phone interview), and Notre Dame.
I also applied to University of Minnesota’s Child Psychology program, Developmental Science Track; has anyone heard anything from this program? They only have info on the accepted students weekend on their website— but they don’t say anything about interviewing. Also applied to Georgetown’s PhD in Psychology, concentration in human development: anyone hear anything from them? Any info would be most welcome!

AHH! And Boston University (a top choice of mine)!! Great day!!!

So I was anxious and decided to do a mass email to be POIs I reached out to over the summer/early fall about my status, here are my mix of results 
Stanford: “We should be done reviewing by mid-January”
NYU: “We are in the middle of reviewing applicants, youll have an update ‘soon’ “
Minnesota: “The applications have filtered our way to us faculty, I will be reviewing them soon. best of luck!” (Glad to know I made the filter haha)
Yale: “Thanks for the update! You’ll hear from me soon”
Michigan: “Expect to hear from me by the end of the week” 
UCSD: “Don’t worry, the other UCs are much faster than us (I referenced how other UCs are sending invites already)”
 

GREs are really school dependent. I talked to one of the people on Michigan’s admissions committee and they said they don’t even request to see it, it’s just a grad school requirement from the school itself. Minnesota on the other hand cared about it, especially the subject test

To the peson who got the NYU interview, congrats! Was it a formal interview invitation or informal Skyped call?

I’ve obsessively been baking
Im an RA to a bunch of freshmen so they’re loving it haha 

Can provide some insight to UMN. 
I visited there in October and they said they decide before the winter break, but the graduate school doesn't send anything out until January. So it's possible that their POI wanted to email the applicant before official results came in. 
Also, I'm applying to PIB program.

I'm personally not applying to NYU but any idea what this is about? "We are suspending applications for Fall 2019 admission while the faculty review the curriculum. We will begin accepting applications for Fall 2020 in early September 2019." - NYU website

Posted this on the results page, but got an email from Yale for a skype interview!

Today is my birthday and I got my first skype interview via email. I know it's far from an official one but still quite excited. At least there is a chance that I won't be rejected by everywhere I applied! 

Submitted all 14 apps a few days ago but still haven't heard anything about interviews. Start to worry about I'll be rejected by everywhere. In addition, as an international applicant I just booked a flight to US yesterday though I'm not sure whether I'll get any interview.  But I have to do so as the flight will get really expensive or even out of sell if I book it after I get any formal interviews. I really don't want to stay in US for a month and end up getting 0 interview. Hopefully it will not happen

To everyone worrying about why they aren't hearing anything yet... Please keep in mind it is very common for programs to start reviewing applications after the semester is over but before Christmas. Sometimes they don't until after New Years though. Many faculty members are extremely busy at the end of the semester and like to wrap up final exams and final grades for the classes they teach before focusing on reviewing applications. This is how it was at the very large R1 school where I earned my bachelors degree and at the school where I earned my clinical psych masters degree. I also currently work in the School of Medicine at a large R1 university and I know the university's psychology department is the same way as I know a number of students in the PhD program. At all three places, a week or so after applications are due the grad admissions office reviews and forwards them to the psych department and then most department faculty don't really begin review until after finals. A lot of schools have finals next week so I would say the most popular weeks to expect being contacted if you are being invited to interview will be December 17-21 and January 7-11. This is not my first application cycle (unfortunately) and those weeks correspond to what I have personally experienced in the past. Of course there will be some before those dates and some after BUT the majority will likely fall in those two weeks. I hope this helps with the anxiety a bit - especially for those of you applying for the first time. Good luck, everyone!! ?

Not necessarily, the email was very personalized from the POI herself and wasn't a mass from the grad school email. She seems to be going faster than others because from my talk with her it seemed like she was faster than most others in getting through her apps
