Interview Request from UIC via e-mail!

Hi everyone, I am a current BFA student at SAIC, and I am surprised that many of you got rejected for its MFA program. I didn't apply SAIC for graduate school because Chicago has a very limited professional resource for any types of studio artists though it is a good school with great facility and faculty members, especially in Painting and Photography. I had classes with the current chair of the painting and photography department, and their works are certainly amazon. 
However, I am sick of being in Chicago for four years, and I primarily applied to schools in the UK. 
As far as now, I have applied to RCA, Goldsmiths, and Chelsea. I interviewed RCA sculpture ten days ago, and I had a very bad experience with the arrogant faculty members, but haven't received any response yet. However, I got into Chelsea College of Arts, and it is a 15-month program, so its tuition is almost half of the others. But I guess Goldsmiths might be the ideal one. Anyone apply Goldsmiths so far? 

Got an email today notifying me of admission into UW Madison's MFA program! This is my second year applying to MFA programs after getting straight rejections last year. I'm surprised they didn't ask for an interview..?
Stick with it ya'll, hard work pays off. Still waiting to hear back from the other 6 schools I applied to, but I'm incredibly grateful to have gotten into this funded program. Cheering for all of you!

I also haven’t heard from VCU (film/photo)

Just got a rejection email from Rutgers

I've seen mention of contact from VCU from certain departments. Has anyone heard yet from the photo/film dept? Also, is anyone here applying to the VCU for photo/film? Richmond seems like such a cool place.

Hi all, I got a call from a UCLA faculty member last night who wanted to talk about my portfolio and asked a few other questions. He indicated that finalists would hear back from them in about a month. Caught me totally off guard and the connection was bad but it went well hopefully!

I received my interview request from RISD for Graphic Design by email this morning.

Yeah me too :/ I feel better knowing either way though

I just got my first interview request from Boston University! 

Well, an account from UCLA liked a photo of mine on Instagram and this is where my excitement and anxiety start to run wild.

Just got an invitation to interview with University of Michigan! I know it's still early but after no hits on my analytics I was feeling pretty bleak about the situation. Anyway this is my third year of applications so fingers crossed!

I just got an interview request for SAIC! I won't lie, I cried. I had completely given up on Grad school this round. 
Editing to say that its for the Art and Tech department!

Let me know if anyone hears from VCU photo today! Hoping notices haven't been sent out for photo yet and that we hear today or tomorrow.

Those of you with  Gradcafe profiles I encourage you in helping current and future applicants out by kindly listing the school applied to this cycle.  You can do this by going to the (Profile > Account Setting > Signature). 

To those that are asking about UCSB, a photographer I know is applying to all three UC schools and has interviews with two of them this week. Not sure of any other details, but I hope it offers some clarity!
Also, I just got a call from the Drawing/Painting/Printmaking dept head at University of Minnesota — I was accepted!!

VCU didn't send out notifications until pretty late last year

I don't think I'd worry yet! I have friends in the program at UIC and even some priority deadline applicants didn't hear back until March so don't give up hope.

I got an offer from UIC and a call for an interview at SAIC photo. 

Just got an email notifying me of my rejection from Carnegie Melon ? Good luck to the rest who applied, hope you get better news!

I lined up a residency at the Vermont Studio Center for this June! A friend of mine that recently finished his MFA did a residency there, and since then has gotten accepted to several other programs. So, a good way to get your foot in the door!
