I was offered 10K in work study and 20K in unsubsidized loans. HGSE was a dream, and I truly (apparently, naively) hoped they were a little more generous when it came to financial aid, but when it comes down to it, I just can’t stomach taking on 80K in debt (which would be conservative given relocation costs, housing, and childcare). I feel much better about doing my program in state at UT Austin and leaving with very little, if any, debt, even though it’s obviously not Harvard. Congratulations and good luck to everyone who can make it to HGSE!

Good to know! What is the commute like? How about parking on campus?

Does anyone know how difficult it is to find nearby (affordable!) housing or if many students work during the program? If one does work, how many hours do you think is reasonable? (EPM)

I know it’s been a whil, but did It’s been a while, but I am considering HGSE EPM and was wondering what you’re doing now and if you still believe it was the right decision. just trying to figure out if the cost is worth it down the road...

Accepted to EPM! Excited to have been accepted, I just hope that financially (and taking into account my children) I can make it work...

You sound like a really strong candidate! I’m keeping my fingers crossed too—getting accepted would mean relocating with 2 (of 4) children as well, and I’m worried about funding school, finding affordable housing, and getting childcare for the youngest. Does anyone know when interview invitations go out?
