  1. Yay! I'm working on finding housing now which has proven to be a pain!
  2. Is anyone going there?! I accepted the offer!
  3. I was accepted! I will probably be declining so maybe that will help you get in!
  4. You definitely wouldn't be the only one bringing someone. Plus, you'll have another person there to help you form an opinion of the program!
  5. Nothing from the school. I have my interview for Project INICIO next week. That's all I know! I hope to hear soon since I heard back from two schools already!
  6. I am able to check my status through that website!
  7. Info is in my signature, but I have an interview for Project INICIO at U of Oregon.
  8. I've been getting into minimalism lately because this is the perfect time in my life for an existential crisis.
  9. I got the same email and was confused by a different part of it but sent an email to Amanda Talbert clarifying. I don't think they'd send us the email if they weren't 99% sure we were accepted. Congratulations on your accomplishment!!!
  10. Hey! I heard back on the 7th requesting an interview. I haven't heard anything from the university itself yet unfortunately.
  11. I am wondering if there are any current or former U of Oregon undergrads/grads floating around out there. Especially if you have heard about or have been a part of Project INICIO. I applied to the program as well as Project INICIO. I have a skype interview with Dr. Cycyck later this month for Project INICIO and I am looking for tips and deeper information about the program and project. I have already spoken to her last semester as well as other faculty, but I really want to make a good impression for this opportunity. Thank you in advance!!!
  12. Don't tell anyone, but I heard they are meeting tomorrow. ?
  13. Thank you so much! Good luck to you too! Hopefully we each get into at least one!!!
  14. I currently attend UWEC for undergrad. I spoke with a professor today and she said that last year the notifications were sent out late February and that was late for them. I would expect mid-February. Don't expect anything from them in the next week or two as they are not done yet! Hope this helps and GOOD LUCK
  15. Exactly what I was going to say. It doesn't hurt to fill it out just in case. Some grad school scholarships look for financial need and FAFSA is how you'll prove that, especially since you won't have parent income included.
  16. I've not been in this situation, but you did the right thing by contacting the programs you applied to. I'd reach out again to those who have not responded, perhaps to the graduate coordinators rather than the directors. I have a feeling that each program has their own policy so the only thing you can do is ask them and hope for the best.
  17. Thank you all so much. I will try to settle down and get my mind on other things. It should be easier when school starts. Best of luck to you all!
  18. Hey all, I am nervously awaiting notifications for the Fall 19 cycle and am looking for self care tips. Though it's still early, I find myself on gradcafe results, on school websites, and generally being a nervous wreck daily through this process. What have you done to get your mind off things and practice good self care? Thank you in advance.
  19. The best advice that I got is to sell yourself well. Use your essays to your advantage and tell the schools what the scores can't. Talk about your specific experiences and what you learned. There is no guarantee that you'll get in; even if you have better scores. Focus on the essays, get them started early, and proofread. Have a few people read it with suggestions. Leave your essays and then come back to them to proofread some more. There is nothing worse than spelling mistakes, not answering the questions fully, and general mistakes. As for the GRE, I scored better on the real test than practice tests. Use the practice tests to see where you have holes and study those areas. It's a critical thinking test, not a knowledge test, so focus on how to take the test because there are only so many vocab words you can memorize.
  20. I am an undergraduate at University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire. UWEC is ranked the #1 LGBT+ friendly campus in the Midwest.
