  1. Anyone know how Cranbrook disperses interviews? (I am assuming it's a No because I haven't gotten an interview request today).
  2. Friends! Just got the University of Michigan-Stamps MFA Interview invite OMFG!
  3. @sunflowertime I can't speak to all of these questions, but personally, I never reach(ed) out to any programs which I applied to, it would make me uncomfortable; and this is my first season applying to Art MFAs. I have two acceptances (UIUC, Ohio State), and two interviews (Northwestern, Oregon), so from personal experience, I would say I can't imagine this is important for all candidates. That being said, I did share my personal statement with a few peers [strong writers] who I trust. My approach to this cycle was to submit one cohesive project [of 20ish images/documentations, depending on place], and tailor my application around that. And from my conversations with mentioned programs, it seems to have been perceived well by faculty so far. For some background, I did not apply to painting/drawing, and though I have never painted and would not describe my work as drawing, I was admitted to Ohio State under that dept. So, might be worth something, idk. Happy to support/help out as well. But more so hoping you kill it this season! I should also say -- my priority in applications was programs which are Fully Funded [I would define fully funded as full tuition remission + a stipend that can pay rent, at least + includes healthcare]. So it's hard for me to say any of this may apply to other art colleges which are not on this model.
  4. If anyone wants to share MFA interviewing tips or experiences, please hit me up. My interview with Oregon was today--and I think it was good?--but I find it so hard to gauge how these things go?
  5. Same! I installed an app that blocks spam calls, I don't want to sound like product placement so I'll leave name off here, but I would 10/10 recommend!
  6. Hey y'all, just got an interview request for University of Oregon's funded MFA in Art, anyone else here apply there?
  7. I am crazy...yes...how do you think I became such a favorable MFA candidate? ?? But for real, I need them to get back to you with the good news asap. ? Thank you so much! ?
  8. FRIENDS! I just got an interview request for the Northwestern University MFA (via email, appears to have gone out to multiple folks as addressed to "undisclosed recipients")!!!
  9. Also, here's a fun tip: I was able to find several university programs [who shall not be named] checking out my artist website via google search [which revealed their IP address and traffic source]. I have Squarespace and was able to find this via the "analytics" > "activity log" tab. Just thought it's a fun treasure hunt if anyone wants to see if their programs are checking them out!
  10. @Strawberrycat@The-Fourth-Dimension thank y'all so much for your kindness❣️
  11. Today I got acceptances from Ohio State-call & Illinois (Urbana Champaign)-email, funded 3 yr programs, hoping for more good news here soon!
  12. Hey all, been nervous to post & shared on the results board, but wanted to share here that I got an informal call/interview from faculty at the Ohio State Studio Art MFA. First contact of the season for me! Wishing everyone a great season.
