I disagree with the comment above, I think you should DEFINITELY update the professor. Think about what you told them: "I absolutely will only attend this program if this other person gets admitted". That is a pretty strong statement and could really hold back an acceptance for you. Here's what I would write:

Thank you again for a wonderful conversation last month, I am still very excited about the Y program! At the end of our interview, I mentioned that I would only be able to attend Z school if my partner were able to attend as well. Due to some personal changes, this is no longer the case. I wanted to update you with this new information in case it is relevant in any way to the admissions process.

I am annoyed at the people in other threads and on the results page who have been wait listed for a program and are announcing that people who have been accepted should hurry up and decide. The real kicker I saw said something along the lines of: if you got in can you please turn it down if you have other offers because this school is my first choice.
The sheer entitlement. 
Also annoying: people who got into programs they applied to but don't want to go there (?), so now they are bashing the only school that accepted them, that they applied to. Moaning and groaning about having to go through a second application cycle. Why did you apply if you were going to be a snob about it? So you could add it to the list of institutions you got to turn down? Jokes on you.
Being able to pursue a career in academia is privilege. It is not a given right. Whatever you think of yourself doesn't  allow you to feel entitled to anything. 
Everyone who pursues a career in academia works hard. Nobody owes you anything. You are not the smartest person in the room.

We need people to help The Grad Cafe make a tool to locate deadlines.  Specifically, we need people who can take a few minutes a day to look up deadlines for their programs (Priority deadlines and even if the time has passed) at various universities and enter the data. ?

You need to get a divorce.  Now.  You didn't mention kids which makes it even more of a no-brainer.  Any avowed Nazi in 2017 is essentially a psychopath.  Get out, and tell everyone you (and he) know how big of a Nazi your ex is.

Hi, I set up this account especially for you. 
First of all, I am so sorry for the plight that you are in. Please don't leave your husband at this moment; if you do, I'm worried that he will turn into something more radical. However, if you have tried everything to talk sense into him but fail or if he becomes physically aggressive, that's another story. 
Have you considered taking your husband to a psychologist? Or do you know some of his close friends/relatives who are not racist? Try to get your husband talk to them. 
Or try to (discreetly) make him read real stories of the Holocaust - to let him understand what Nazism really means. 
As a last resort, anti-depressants such as Prozac, Celexa, may drastically reduce his aggression/hatred towards "other races" or women. 
You must stand your ground firmly and must never be swayed by your husband's attitudes/behaviours. If there's anyone who can change him, it's you. I understand how frustrating it is to battle against someone who holds drastically different (and wrong) values, especially if it's someone close to you. But please, please, please, don't give up on them without trying. I guess you don't need my reminder, but never forget that what you are standing for is 100% correct: women = men; white = Asian = black = Hispanics, etc.

That statement is all I needed to know about you.  I'm above engaging in the musings of seemingly self-important trolls.  @T Qi Avoid his advice.  Good luck, T Qi, and I hope it works out and you two get into the same program! 

I think people should stop insulting programs that they get rejected from, or get in to. If you get rejected and dis the school, it just comes off as desperate and immature. Even something like "accepted, waiting to hear back from better programs" come off as elitist, and can make someone feel like shit if that was their reach school. This might come off as overly sensitive, but the insecurity of grad school applicants is already sky high.

I don't mean to offend and you may actually think what I am about to say is funny depending on your humor, but I had an image pop in my head of someone waking up from surgery and immediately hitting the F5 key to refresh results just in case something happened while you were under.
