What no way, if it went well that’s a good sign, you prob will get in and if not getting an interview at Yale in and of itself is an accomplishment. I’m sure u did great! 

Got accepted into MICA MA program! Still waiting it out for the MFA program but will be taking it up even if I don't get accepted!
Sent rejects out to UIC and NCSU.

Finally heard back from the last school I was waiting on. Rejected from VCU design/visual comm design. Everyone else heard so long ago I figured I did something wrong in the app, but I guess not. It was a very nice letter telling me I was really close to getting in and to apply again next year. I wonder if they say that to everyone? Either way still pleasant rejection. I’m going to elsewhere so no biggie. 

I got my official rejection too! And my e-mail said the same, lol  
So that leaves me with MICA (waitlist) and Pratt...

Colorado State: Rejected
Columbus School of Art and Design: Accepted with TA ($3,000 stipend) and $10,000 scholarship.
MassArt: Accepted with TA ($2,000 stipend) and $2,000 Dean's scholarship.
Maine College of Art: Accepted with GA ($1,500 stipend) and $5,000 scholarship.
Portland State: Accepted with GA ($1,800 stipend), $10,000 Laurel's scholarship and full tuition remission.
SVA: Requested Interview, but I declined presuming I wouldn't get much funding. 
University at Buffalo: Accepted with TA ($14,704 stipend), full tuition remission and the Mark Diamond Research Grant designated for my thesis exhibition.
University of Wisconsin - Milwaukee: Rejected
VCU: Rejected
I think I'm set on Buffalo! I don't think I could ever come close to a better offer than that and I also connect very well with the painting faculty in their department. I'm excited and nervous for the big move! But I feel confident that Buffalo is the right decision for me. Upstate New York will be way different than Oklahoma, but here goes nothing! 
Hope everyone is starting to relax after all the stress and setting sights on a plan! I'd love to hear where everyone is thinking of going! ?

Which program?

I don’t know too much about the Otis program but it came up slot when I was researching schools as a pretty good program. I didn’t apply to any of the Cali schools, but I think the same lady that heads the Yale GD program started the Otis program.

i was deciding between ocad digital futures, nyu itp, and risd digital + media.

One thing I've taken away from this process is that I would genuinely love to see what happens inside these selection committees. Additionally, I would love to be a part of a selection committee. I should maybe put that on my statement of purpose next year.

i’m currently finishing my undergrad in vancouver (as an international student from the us), and staying in canada is quite doable once you have a degree here! vancouver as a city is really expensive to live in though. i’m at ubc, not emily carr, but i’ve only heard good things from their students. feel free to message me any questions about vancouver or the immigration process! 

Just got an acceptance email to MICA! Also just got an interview invite from Rutgers

I am struggling with a similar decision and it’s definitely keeping me up at night! Since most people on here are saying to not go into debt, I thought I would share the flip side I have heard from several different artists who got their MFAs from middle/lower tier programs for free. They told me to really evaluate what I want out of the program because if it IS to be an artist (not choosing teaching out of scarcity mind set/stability) then the connections really do help you at the top schools. Of course some people who go to Yale end up working at a restaurant and creating and some people who dont ever get their MFA can support themselves with their work. Looking at the success of the recent alumni and location (which is important!) can be really helpful to see if it’s worth it for you. Or maybe speaking with someone who has loans and went to a top 3 school...? I have no idea what to do either...I guess I’m just sharing what I have heard from most of the grads I’ve spoken to. Overall evaluating your true goals for getting an MFA is helpful in making a decision. 

I’ve heard over and over again, do NOT pay for grad school. It’s not worth it. Teaching jobs are increasingly difficult to come by after school anyways, having a mountain of debt to add to that stress is gonna suck really bad. Just my two cents?
