  1. Hi everyone, So basically I have been admitted to Johns Hopkins, Upenn, Drexel and Temple University for their MPH program. While all of these programs are exceptional, now I cannot decide where to go? None of the programs have offered me any funding (except for Drexel, which is a meager amount anyway). Hopkins is probably the better choice as it is THE BEST SCHOOL for Public health. But it is so expensive and I don't want to get out of grad school with a lot of debt. Also I live in Philly where the latter three schools are, so not in the mood to move to Baltimore as well. Anyone in the similar boat with me? How did you decide where to go? Kinda freaking out as April 15th is around the corner... Thanks!
  2. Hi, I think I might be later to this conversation, but I wanted to clarify that international students are ineligible for federal financial aid (FAFSA). This aid is usually a loan offered to citizens and permanent residents, who later do have to pay it back to the government. We, as international students, can apply for scholarships and grants including teaching and research assistantships, on-campus jobs up to 20 hours/week, and definitely are considered for funding (separate from federal financial aid) in graduate school. I hope this helps!
  3. Hello beautiful people, I am wondering how you would go about asking for a research assistantship for MPH program to a professor. I have an extensive research background in biochemistry and molecular biology and would like to be involved in some kind of research in grad school. I did email one of the professors about the assistantship after I received my acceptance from one of the schools I applied for (and received a small scholarship (not much), so being an RA would definitely help with bills as well.) Any insights or personal experiences would be appreciated!
  4. That's great! If you don't mind me asking, did you apply for a masters or PHD program? Generally PhD candidates hear first, from what I heard. I also got accepted into Drexel, posted in their portal, but yet to receive any official email. Haven't heard from any other ones (Upenn, Johns Hopkins).
  5. Has anyone heard anything from Upenn, Johns Hopkins or any other East Coast universities for decision in Masters in public health? I saw a couple people already got interview emails from Johns Hopkins but nothing about others.
