Hey everyone,
So I had the *exact same dilemma as some of you have currently right now. I got offered both at U of T and at McMaster.
For those of you still on the fence, CHOOSE U OF T.
I am not regretting a single moment of it. Although McMaster offered me multiple scholarships, the amount of opportunities I am currently receiving as a U of T Grad is bar none. If you look at current U of T MHI LinkedIN Profiles, you'll notice that most have secured co-ops / positions at well-known hospitals and consulting firms (KPMG, Sick Kids, UHN, to name a new). Not to say that people from McMaster haven't, but I found by just talking with some of the folks there they are at somewhat of a disadvantage, simply due to location and to a lesser extent brand name.
My point isn't to degrade the McMaster program, however they do take lesser courses than U of T (I believe its 3 courses per term) which means that the amount of content is considerably less. I find the U of T program structured quite nicely, with progression of content and materials to help you get prepared for the workforce.
Ultimately, its your decision, and both programs will make you successful. However for those who have a choice, choose U of T

I guess that's enough to apply for study permit. I haven't done anything except accepting the offer since I haven't received any email regarding the next step yet! I searched through the internet and found that last year McMaster's registration was in mid-July. Not sure about this year and our program!

From a previous group:
'About this question, I actually asked about the difference between some MHI programs after I was done my presentation. I was told from the professor interviewing me that all are great programs. He said Waterloo seems to focus a tad more on engineering, Mac is a bit more business, and UofT is more organizational, meaning that "U of T essentially wants all the CIOs to come from here". That's just one source though so take it as you will'

Unfortunately all I know is what is posted on these gradcafe forums and on the University websites. Even though I'm local I don't know anyone personally who has completed these programs.

I think they offer you emhi only because they want to try and fill the emhi stream with enough students so that they can run both programs. I hear what you are saying about it being shorter but keep in mind we also start the program three months earlier than the regular stream. So we probably finish only 3 months later instead of six months later. Don't we actually end up doing more in class because we need to take 1.5 electives whereas the regular stream only takes 0.5 elective? With the executive, I'm a bit worried about getting enough practical experience in the field since I will be doing a project instead of a 4 month full time practicum. Of course the main benefit of the executive is financial, and still being able to work while going to school. Also since this a full time program, I plan to take out funds from my rsp via the lifelong learning plan.

Im not a 100% sure. Since the co-op term has a total amount of $1500 internship fee to pay, and in addition to that, I don't think we need to pay tuition fees by $6000 per semester during co-op terms. Thus, I think it would be 6000*3 terms at school + a $1500 one-time fee, which is an amount of $19500 in total for our tuition fees. : )
