@CHOCCOCO This is just my personal opinion - it's fine. While I don't believe all men act one way and all women act another, if you're not comfortable with a male living in your space, than you have every right to not room with one. Be kind in how you phrase the rejection and I think the other person should understand. 
That being said, I've lived with just women and I've lived with men and my roommate experience was 95% affected by who they are (as a person), not just their gender. Best of luck!

I've heard discover can be quite good. I've also heard that you should check with your local bank or credit union to see if they have individual loans at lower rates. I personally got one private loan through Sallie Mae and then the other loans I had were graduate federal loans when I applied for FAFSA. 

Yes! Where is the best area to live in? I don’t want to live in Portland because of traffic. What is the best way to look for housing ( online, specific website, advertisements)? 
I would like to be in a smoke free house hold. Do many people rent out rooms? I’d rather have an apartment and rent with other students.
 

I'm a current grad student and I've really been staying in the Grad Cafe community. It is mostly applying undergrads, but if you check out some of the other forums (like coursework, research, etc) there are other current grads. I like the idea of paying it forward and being available to answer questions or provide advice, and it would be nice if more grad students did the same. I also look at reddit, but I like the format of Grad Cafe much more.

Hi! I just got accepted off the waitlist! So excited to meet everyone!

I think I’m leaning more towards having a roommate as well the more I think about it. I know @CHOCCOCO was thinking about one too so we can roommate if you girls want to? Just message me if you girls are interested  
Yeah I was looking at apartments and found some nice once. I found one down the street from the school and another one in Hillsboro but haven’t researched anything else. Lol

I accepted too! I'm from Arizona so definitely interested in having a roommate. I kind of was thinking more Portland area because they block our classes to be twice a week and the grad student I talked to on interview day says that's where she lives and just drives the like 40-45 minutes. I just think it would be fun to live in the city. And I'm bringing my car! Has anyone thought about making a Facebook page? 

I was thinking about roommates too because of cost as well, but I haven't decided yet about living alone or having a roommate(s).

I have been waitlisted at my number one choice school... it's starting to get pretty dark. Please vent/tell stories about your waitlist experience or anything you have heard. I am waitlisted at SJSU for speech pathology. If anyone knows anything about it please feel free to share.

So for my practicum experiences it is on off campus sites because my program does not have a clinic. My program you complete all of your classes first and then start your practicums full time your last three semesters. I start my practicum settings in the fall semester so I can't give you advise about that right now! However, I know that our practicums count as a class so they are graded on the A, B, C scale. 

Haha my heart dropped when I read "10 students watching", lol. 

Hi grad student!
1. How are you graded? Do you have practicals? How is it conducted?
2. I hate people watching me especially if I am unsure of doing something and not 100% comfortable. Any tips on getting over this?

I was recently waitlisted at Pacific University in tier 1 and it is one of my top choices. I just had a couple questions regarding some stuff since i wasn't able to go in person.
- Is the university affiliated with any hospitals in socal? and is it easy to find a rotation in another state if your not from Oregon?
- Also how is funding like? are you able to get federal loans to cover everything? or did most people take out private loans? 

Congrats on your interviews! I got a phone call from Diana on Friday around 3: 30 offering me admission. ? I think they are calling more peole next week.
