I'm a current student at IXD program at Pratt, and honestly this program has been very disappointing. The program is still very much under development. It is under the school of information, which is very library-science focused. Although Pratt is famous for design, incoming students should be aware that this program does not place emphasis on visual design aspect of UX. It's very much focused on the research aspect of the UX design.
The program also has very few full-time professors. A lot of non full-time professors tend to be busy as they have work outside of school, and their class tend to be less organized. There is a big difference in the quality of classes taught by full-time staff and non full-time. Also the school is not planning to increase the number of classes despite having increased number of incoming students this fall (2019), which will lead to worse instructor-to-student ratio.
Do you work on any interesting research projects at least? How helpful are they with career resources/internships?

@smriti23 sorry just saw this...but I'm actually really just interested in the Transdisciplinary Design program now haha I'm now also considering something like Bentley's part on campus part online Human Factors in Information Design program (though it seems like the alum network/job placements are really centered around boston)
I'd also apply to NYU if it wasn't so technically focused and unstructured

A lot of the classes seem to overlap. Also, if anyone has experience with either program, I'd appreciate any advice.
TIA!

^^ Similar question as above...but I'm curious - what drew everyone to the program? what are you hoping to get out of it/what are your goals afterwards? I'm trying to see if it's a good fit...

As someone researching this school and trying to determine fit, can I ask what drew everyone to this programs, what you hope to get out of it, and what your goals are?
Parsons' MFA in Transdisciplinary Design vs. SVA's MFA in Interaction Design vs. Pratt MS Information Experience Design?

If anyone has any experience with these programs, I'd love to hear your take.
Thanks in advance!
PS Let me know if there's somewhere better to post this! The programs are pretty interdisciplinary, though not humanities.
