Anyone going to Queens MPH know if there are any payments due?
I haven't received any details regarding payment yet. The last email they sent (on June 6) had a Guide to Registration and Fees but it was a link from 2018-2019 so the dates were not for this year. I emailed them back and they said we will receive the 2019-2020 Guide on June 13th. The guide will have details about deadlines for payments.

Hi all, apologies if this has been discussed (I'm sure it has) but given the thousands of responses on this thread I cannot look through them all.
I am hoping to apply to MPH programs for Fall 2020, and I would ideally like an on-campus program (not online) and also would like to focus on Global Health, with a practicum abroad.
Thus, the two programs worth considering seem to be UofA and SFU... and I am wondering if anyone has any insight into the pros and cons of each of these programs compared to one another?
Alternatively, are there any other schools you might suggest?
Thanks in advance!
I don't know too much about U of A and SFU but McMaster has an amazing Global Health program! They have a practicum abroad and on campus program (as far as I understand). Good luck

Did anyone else who received the waitlist email from Western yesterday also get this:
"Alternatively, we could pass your file over to the Global Health professional master’s program for consideration to be admitted to that program.
https://www.uwo.ca/africainstitute/programs/MMASc.html
Please note that if you wish to be considered for the Global Health program you can’t remain on the MPH waitlist."
Yes, I got the same thing!

What is on ur email then??? They asked if I would like to stay on the waitlist in the email. did they ask you too?? I am extra anxious now!!!!
They asked me the same thing! Don't worry. Just respond to them with you preference:
-You can stay on the MPH waitlist
-They can forward your file to their Global Health program
-You can ask to be taken off the waitlist
Good luck

For anyone still waiting for McMaster, I just called for their Global Health Program waitlist, and they said they are expecting to have movement until the first week of September

Thank you SO MUCH for sharing this. I called the office after reading it and they said I should hear about whether I’ll get an offer or stay on the waitlist this week.
I was sent an email not too long after that: I have been accepted!!
I am so grateful for all of your support xo
they said there will be movement on the waitlist until August. I’d highly recommend calling the manager.
CONGRATULATIONS!!! So happy for you
When did they say you need to accept the offer by?

I called the Western's MPH program this morning. They said that they have already sent out the second round offer. People who are not on the list will receive an email this week in regarding to the situation. I am guessing the waiting list is pretty small since the program manager knows who I am right away. Good luck to everyone!!!
I received an email 30 mins ago saying that all offers have been sent out and I can remain on the waitlist if I would like ?

They said they will get back to everyone by the end of June.
Apparently, they will be picking people from various categories such as BSc/BA/mature students for a more diverse class. It looks like they have an over-representation of BSc students who have accepted their offers.
What is your background? I am a BSc Physics major. ?I hope we have some movement on the waitlist
Im a BHSc student (pretty similar to a BSc I guess ? )

Anyone on the waitlist for Western MPH or McMaster Global Health heard back yet or know when we will hear back?

Hi! Anyone who accepted an offer from Queens MPH still looking for a roommate? Also, is the June 14th orientation mandatory?
Hey! I haven't found a roommate yet. I am not sure if I will be going to Queen's though. I have been waitlisted for the program I want so if I get that, I won't be going to Queen's. I will start looking for housing probably at the end of June (hope that isn't too late ).
And no, it is just a meet and greet.

Thanks so much for sharing, @QueensSpec! As of today, 47 people had accepted their offers (program has 60 seats total). Would you happen to know about any other criteria that may use, such as ethnic background, nationality, etc?
It is possible that some of those 47 might have accepted the offers at other universities as well, and then decide to not pay the deposit at Western MPH by early June.
On this chat itself, I see 9 of us who have been waitlisted, including myself (there are currently 13 spots available, assuming all of the 47 attend). @a19 @PD9090 @KPJ @QueensSpec @kuttychathan @HaileyS @PM26 @Mph201999
Would you like to share your background (undergrad/grad/major) to help us get a better estimate? Also, will anyone be rejected their Western MPH offer?
I will be graduating with a Bachelor of Science (Physics) from Canada this Spring. I have public health & healthcare experience.
On another note, I just received a rejection from MUN. Was hoping for at least a waitlist hahaha *crying internally*
I am a BHSc student, 3.7 GPA. Tbh I don't think my application is very competitive for Western because they are looking for more experience than I have. I am waiting on a decision from McMaster's Global Health program and that is my first choice. Western is my second choice so fingers crossed for both

hii everyone i am from india ,
who can guide me for doing MPH in canada plz.
also what is scope after my MPH graduation? and which faculty i m choose for the my best future plz give me some idea.
Hey,
I am not too sure how the international applications work but I think there is a lot of scope with an MPH degree! Try to do a program with a practicum. Queen's has a practicum and so does Western (among other Canadian MPH programs). Western is however very expensive. Choose a faculty based on your interest and background degree.
Good luck

Hey guys!
Hope everyone is having good luck with applications.
I'm wondering if anybody who accepted Queen's MPH has heard anything back about paying the deposit?
When is this due?
Best,
I haven't heard anything about a deposit

I am on the Global Health waitlist and I have not yet heard back. When I called, they said we can hear back until the first week of September I honestly think the chances of hearing back are slim because realistically, the only people who would drop out of the program are those who got into med school (or another competitive professional program). To my knowledge, all med school offers have already been made - including offers from the waitlist. At this point, I think the only way the waitlist will move forward is if someone miraculously changes their mind..
