  1. Hello everyone, I saw this thread and just wanted to post and help out for anyone needed some guidance and tips on how they can curate their application. I am a first year S-LP student at the University of Alberta! Send me a message or a comment for any questions you all have. I understand the stress of this application, but I would say do it one at a time, start something bit by bit as early as possible
  2. Hello, I am just wondering if any SLP students here who finished the S-LP program or already in the program, I am hoping to ask for any help, tips, study advice, and any good strategies to use for studying in grad school. Also, it would be helpful to hear any of your experience about the U of A program and any help or notes, resources that are found online would be beneficial for studying? Thank you very much!
  3. I understand this fully as I am someone that applied for two years and go rejected from 5 schools, it can be extremely daunting. I recommend maybe apply to UBC, U of A too. I got in this year (year three of applying ) and I got in to to u of a, and definitely what strengthened my application was my volunteer and relevant experiences. I also made sure that my goals and previous experiences aligns with the school's values. My GPA is subpar actually but other factors on my application I made sure it is very good and with good detail of my activities. I can help you write the letter of intent, or any further tips and advice. Message me whenever .
  4. email for me as well, but a different person that signed the email not Vicki. Congratulations as well to everyone!
  5. I am from Manitoba, and I only applied to U of A, which was quite a risk but I am glad it was worth it
  6. I got the email too for U of Alberta!! and I am so grateful
  7. I am on a similar situation, my life feels like it was on hold for a few years now because of SLP apps. I understand the confusion of where you should head your life. I also applied to a research position that is 1 year contract and I did not expect to actually get the job. I will be working with amazing doctors in the research area and I will feel so bad to bail on them too, but I had to find something this year in case SLP won't go through. So many quick decision making I have to consider too. Don't worry I feel many of us have similar experiences. Whatever happens I hope it is all for the best!
  8. I am also wondering the same thing. It could be this week!
  9. Yes, same here. It is very hard to wait. Wishing everyone the best!
  10. Agree, waiting game is such a pain! haha but thank you as well!
  11. Oh really, May seems so far away, ahh! I am wondering where does this say on the website? thank you
