  2. I am still waiting for UConn to hopefully get me off their waitlist... They kept telling me that they'll know after 4/15....
  3. thank you! This is very helpful, though the programs I am waiting to hear back from do not necessarily follow the same process, I feel I am no longer completely in the dark!
  4. hi, thank you very much for the post! Would you mind sharing some process insight on how offers to people on the waitlist are made? Thank you!
  5. Oh hey, thank you for letting me know. I wish you a great time working and enjoying life at whichever university of your choice!
  6. Anyone got into ualbany & UConn and is yet to decline the offers? I am still on their waitlists >_<
  7. If you take a look at what you said about Columbia and UW Seattle yourself, it shouldn't be hard to make a decision!
  8. I know someone in real life who got off the waitlist in July! Two friends of mine also applied to PhD program 10+ years ago, and they were both waitlisted at some schools & both of them got off the waitlists (though one was already admitted to her dream school so she declined the offer). When I applied the first time, I had to defer my admission in June and another student deferred in May, so I am feeling optimistic!!!
  9. Hey! I am waitlisted at UAlbany for funding & unofficially waitlisted at UConn (I emailed the director asking for an update and was told that they didn't have money to make me an offer. I take it to mean that I am very, very low on the waitlist, or they'd bother to at least produce an offer ). At the moment I feel pretty hopeful that I will get off the waitlist at Albany, but do not really expect a status change from UConn. I will most likely give up my spot at the University of South Florida. If I do get a funded offer from either Albany or UConn, I will give up my spot at UMass Boston as well. You?
  10. Congrats!!! You are doing so well and I am happy for you (not just because with all those offers you are likely to decline Albany lol)
  11. I emailed professor Ma (grad program director) and was told that decisions would likely be sent out within 2 weeks. I am anticipating to hear from them in early March... This is taking way too long ? Are you going to UAlbany's visit day? I live outside US so will only be attending the virtual session.
  12. I know! I don't know if admission to PhD programs has always been this competitive or is it this year in particular I am basically waiting for UMass Amherst & Syracuse & UConn to reject me so that I can start begging Albany.
  13. Hey, I saw on the results page that 4 have been offered admission. Hope you'll hear good news from them soon. If I am waitlisted I'd consider it a win. But my chance at being waitlisted is like, 0... ?
  14. Hey it's you again! Thanks for the information. They do seem to send out decision later than most schools. I am not really expecting good news from them, still the waiting!!
