I’m leaning heavily towards school social work, my dream job would be as a school social worker. However I have also considered Children and Families...I have some experience in foster care and it seems a little more versatile, I worry about there being a lack of jobs for school social workers. 
 
I’ve been in nyc for ten years myself, although I’m lucky to live nearby in upper Manhattan. 

Hi hi! I committed at the beginning of March after visiting campus. I've done just about all of the required steps and filled out the forms, and now I'm just waiting to see what fall semester is going to look like ? 
I've been in NYC for five years and will hopefully stay in my current place in Brooklyn. It's a bit of a commute but the price for the space is so worth it.
What is your method/field of practice?

As a person who actually lives in NYC, I have to disagree with you. The NYC universities are not stringing anyone along, they are just not set on what is the executive action Governor Cuomo is planning to set. As you can believe we, in the U.S., particularly in these hard hit areas, are ALL in a climate of uncertainty. We do not know what to expect even in the next 2 weeks, so to lack compassion and be impatient while these cities are trying to ensure the safety of people who live here is inconsiderate. They are trying their best, not trying to rush reopening things. So just wait and stop thinking that there is a lack of transparency, we just don't know what is yet to come...Simple!

Got into Columbia yesterday!!! Been praying for this moment. ? 

I got my acceptance to Columbia today!

YALL. UGA just offered me a full ride assistantship and 12k stipend for living expenses. I literally could get my whole masters degree for $50. ?? but my dream school is Columbia. I really don’t know what to do. 

I just got accepted to WashU!! Does anyone know how difficult this program is to get into? I'm still in disbelief that they accepted me lol

@nicka F I've definitely thought about it, although it doesn't seem too likely. You definitely aren't the only one worried! 
I've also been paying attention to how the universities are handling the crisis and how much they're supporting their students though, which I think should really inform our decisions. 

Hi everyone, honestly, I was hoping to see if anyone can relate because I honestly feel silly talking about this to anyone else. Given everything that is going on, has anyone else started worrying about schools next year? I got accepted to UCLA Luskin, but given how the situation currently is i'm so scared by the time fall rolls around schools will still be on shut down. I currently attend UCI as an undergrad and they already cancelled our commencement ceremony. It's getting bad. Given how interactive and field-work focused an MSW degree is, do you think if the circumstances continued the way they are and weren't better by the fall, MSW admissions would be rescinded? Or do you think that they would possibly defer everyone for a year and have us all begin in 2021? I have no idea. I probably sound crazy. Honestly, I feel like the stress of everything going on has led me to just be stressed about grad school as opposed to being happy that I got into my first choice!!!
I hope someone can relate  

Just got admitted to UChicago today with a 30k a year scholarship. Unfortunately I don’t think that I will be able to attend because I just have too much debt from undergrad to go into more, but I’m still proud of myself 

On another note, I heard back from UGA today. I got in! I’m excited & waiting for their financial package

Yall, I got into Columbia! I have to now decide between Columbia and Case Western and I'm definitely leaning towards Columbia, just concerned about costs.

Just toured NYU. They have so many amenities it's insane! A great choice for anyone looking there.

I think I'm going to commit to Columbia this week! 

Just finished my interview with CU.. I think it went ok but I don't know what to think at this point!

OMG I got into columbia today!!! Congrats to everyone else who did, so exciting! I honestly cried a little bit. Does anyone know how long it takes to get scholarship/financial aid info? Also, does anyone know how long the scholarship appeal process for NYU takes? I submitted one about a week ago and haven't heard anything. 
I'm starting to really freak out about deciding where to go. I pretty much ruled out Umich because the friends I know that are in the program really regret it. So right now I'm deciding between NYU, Denver, and Columbia. Anyone else deciding between the same schools or have any input/advice on how to decide??

I have been closely monitoring this thread throughout my entire application process. My anxiety would not allow me to post (lol) but now that I have acceptances, I feel the courage to. I've applied to NYU, Columbia, Fordham and Temple (online). I'm from NYC, work full-time and will be attending part-time, hence why I haven't applied to any full-time programs like Hunter. So far, I've been accepted to NYU, Columbia and Fordham.
Still trying to decide, but my heart is set on NYU. Is anyone else planning on attending NYU and/or will be a part-time student?
Also, congrats to all those who have been accepted, hoping for all those who are waitlisted, as well as waiting for decisions and sharing hugs with those who have received rejection letters.

Just got my decision letter from Columbia as well! I got accepted! So excited to start! ?

Just in time for me to visit this weekend!!!! I am crying at work.
