Not a bad interview at all. For those going tomorrow, be able to explain why SLP, why CBU, and some particular things you are drawn to in the field. The faculty/staff were all so nice and courteous. There were at least 14 or so people there interviewing during my time bracket alone so it sounds like a lot of people are being interviewed.

How was the essay portion of the interview?

    Hi Everyone!

I have an interview with California Baptist University on Friday and I'm starting to freak out!! Is there anyone that can offer some advice or who has already interviewed with them and can tell me a little bit about how the process went? I just received an email that a writing sample with be taken directly after the interview and and timed writing is not my strong point.

Hey! I was wondering how the interview process was like? Thank you!

Hi everyone! I officially committed to attending University of the Pacific's Master's in Speech-Language Pathology starting Fall 2019, and I wanted to see if there are any people out there who are also attending this fall! I will be part of the 24 month cohort, and I'm originally from Northern California but currently live in Chicago. I know it's not April 15 yet (big day is tomorrow!), but if anyone knows of a Facebook group of students who are attending, can you post the link here? Can't wait to meet you!

Hi! I was wondering how you like UOP's program so far?

For California programs, I applied to Sacramento State (they pretty much only accept Sacramento State students due to a course they require that’s only offered at Sac State), University of the Pacific and CSU Northridge’s online spring program. Rejected to all. I was not surprised due to having a lower GPA.

Do you mind if I ask what your gpa was?

All the schools in my signature I applied to. Let me know if you have any questions!

Thank you so much and congrats on SJSU! How is your experience at SJSU so far? And how was your interview process?

I am currently doing a post bacc program to get my pre reqs done but I am worried not having all of them done will affect my chances of getting in. I will have them finished before grad school starts tho.

Thank you!! I applied to 9. If I could go back an apply again I would do it very differently.

One thing to be aware of with some California schools you may have to take the CBEST.

What would you do differently? Sorry for all of the questions! I am applying this year and am quite anxious haha.

Yes! I saw that as a requirement. Most schools require to have them done before you start grad school. Heard the test is fairly easy tho

    I applied to:

    Sac State - rejected

    Chico State - rejected

    San Jose State - reject

San Diego State University - rejected

    Loma Linda University - waitlisted

I’m currently attending Arizona State University. My GPA was 3.8, GRE score 148, 152, 4. I was a student athlete (2 years), Vice President of my sorority, Vice President of NSSLHA, had research experience, and volunteer hours. I also thought I had strong letters of recommendation.  I hope this helps.

Congrats on ASU! How many schools did you apply to?

  8. Hi everyone! I just have a few questions.. But to give some quick background, I am applying for the Fall of 2020. I graduated as a liberal arts major and so I am now doing the sdsu essentials program online to get my pre-reqs done. By the time of application, I will have 4 done. The rest will be finished before the program starts.

    1. My first question is has anyone taken their pre-reqs through sdsu essentials? Did you have a hard time transferring classes over for the grad program you applied to? Or was it okay?

    2. I will only have 4 classes done when my applications are due...will that affect my admission chances? All of my 4 classes will have A's when I send them in for applications.

    3. My GRE scores are Q:160 V: 151 AWA: 4. Are these scores competitive enough for California schools? Will be mainly applying to socal schools. I also have shadowing experience.

Any input is helpful. Thank you and good luck to everyone ❤️
