    Hey Folks,
I'm sending positive energy to all who have been following this thread for the past few months. Today is (most likely) going to be the day that many of us have been waiting years for. Emotions of anxiety, fear of failure, uncertainty, self-doubt have flooded my mind and body for the past 48 hours as we pull up to the final stretch, but all i want to say is this--
you are all intelligent, ambitious educators, and i'm so thrilled to have selected a field filled with so many passionate individuals. Wherever we land, i am wishing you all the best and the most success in the future!
    Good luck to all!

    Hey all,
Just a reminder that for the applicants submitting a FAFSA application for financial aid (I think just for U.S. citizens applying, but I could be wrong), HGSE says it needs to be submitted by Feb 21st.
Getting closer! Rooting for all of us here!

All is well my dude. You have 3 interviews to clinical psychology programs; the most competitive graduate degree in the country.
There will always be someone with more interviews, more publications, and a higher salary. This field is filled with rejection at every step of your career. Schools will reject you, internships will toss your application in the trash, and reviewers will tear your manuscripts to shreds.
It sounds like you worked hard to get where you are. But there are others who worked just as hard who have weaker applications because their PI wasn't a productive scholar or who couldn't afford to volunteer for 20 hours a week.
You've made it pretty far. There are thousands of qualified people who would kill to be in your shoes. I urge you to be grateful and enjoy the process.

I have very similar stats, plus a Master's degree in experimental psychology, near perfect research interest matches, and I haven't gotten a single interview. I understand it's frustrating but at least you have interviews, and you only need one to say yes to get into a program.

If it is like it has been the past several years, it seems the Ed.M. application decisions are sent out via email the first Friday in March. If it stays that way, then March 6th should be the golden day.
    Praying that HGSE stays consistent!

    Hi all,
Excitedly/nervously/hopefully just submitting my application...was worried when one LOR writer was taking a LOT longer than they said they would, but got the confirmation it is in now.
Fingers crossed for all of us when decisions are made in the coming weeks and months.
Glad to have this virtual community while going through all of this (and through all that is to come as well)!

First, let me say I appreciate all the positivity, support, and encouragement you've added to this thread
It sounds like you've made the best of both academic and professional experiences while in undergrad. I'm impressed by the range of contributions you were able to gain as an ABA therapist.
From what I've read, you gained quite a bit of hands on experience with data collect and measurement, and applied that information to better understand development - that's a huge boost.
Best of luck to you, keep us updated!

    Hi all!
Just submitted my application. Every time I tried (from multiple computers and browsers), I was unable to complete the "activities" section of the application. However, my CV/resume lists a few volunteer and community engagement experiences, so I hope those catch the eye of the committee. I know HGSE values well-rounded students, so I hope leaving that section break does not give the wrong impression.  Anyone have any thoughts on this?
    Program/Concentration: PSP - prevention research track (Ed.M.)
GRE Score: average for the program
GPA: undergrad - 3.9 (however, took a large break in college process, early years are ugly), masters - 4.0
Work Experience: 7+ years in special needs early education (neurodevelopmental behavioral and cognitive disorders, both practice and research/process work), 1 year (part time) as a graduate research assistant
Undergrad/Grad Institution (Public, Private, Ivy, etc..):  both - public state school (R1)
What Other Schools Are You Applying To: A few prevention science and public health programs, no other ed programs.

    Hi Lisa,
That’s strange that the activities section of the application was not allowing you to post information. I’ve heard from alumni in previous webinars that this section is intended to highlight the individuality of prospective students. These activities are meant to show admissions what you do outside of an academic or professional setting, such as volunteer work, projects for organizations, etc. I think it is fine that you listed some volunteer work and community engagement on your resume, they will be see it this way.
I resonate with your undergrad experience, as my current GPA is near a 4.0 but my first two years were ugly due to breaks I took. I think you have great work experience that will stand out in your application! Did you apply for the early childhood fellowship?

    Best of luck!
