  1. I also only applied to 5 schools, so I feel you. I've already decided that if I get rejected or decide my accepted programs just aren't right, I'm going to take another gap year and focus on doing an additional study and getting my research published, then reapply to even more programs.
  2. Okay, that's what I thought, but I wasn't sure - thanks!
  3. Out of curiosity, did anyone else apply to Penn (UPenn, not Penn State)? I saw that the combined Soc/History PhD program has done interviews in the past, but does anyone know if the Sociology PhD program does interviews? It looks like they don't notify until mid-to-late February - the waiting is killing me.
  4. Bumping in because I am also interested in this! I applied to MAPSS at UChicago and if they don't offer me full tuition I want to learn how to appropriately request it. I won't be going unless they offer full tuition because it's just so expensive.
  5. I'm fairly positive I will be getting rejected from WashU, as those acceptance notices were sent by the department, which stings a lot because it will be my first. However, I haven't received a formal rejection yet, and it sounds like you haven't either, so don't get too down! You never know what might happen! (I say this, although I'm struggling to not be anxious, sad, or scared myself!) I think I've checked my application and login portals probably 1,000 times every day for the past week and a half!
  6. Yes! I was hoping we might find out sooner, but Feb isn't that far away. I'm getting more nervous with every day. Feb is about to be a really good month or a really bad month for sure!
  7. I don't know, but whoever just posted in the results board to ask about UW-Madison just gave me a heart attack. Bruh..I can barely type now!
  8. Does anyone know if the WashU notices of acceptance were from POI or the department?
  9. Mine also says "Ready for Review" still. It does say that decisions won't be shown in the application portal. This waiting around is giving me so much anxiety.
  10. I did apply. I received an email from WashU a few days earlier, informing me that I had been identified as eligible for an additional fellowship and an invitation to apply for the fellowship. But as of right now I haven't received a rejection nor acceptance email. And hopefully the decisions are sent out over a few days...fingers crossed!
  11. Two people already posted their acceptance! I didn't receive any email and my portal still looks the same, so it doesn't look good for me :( Congrats to the two who posted!
  12. Fingers crossed! Did anyone here apply to the new program at WashU in St. Louis?
  13. I was looking at last year's results and it seems not all applicant's receive interviews, and those who did received them at different times, so don't give up hope!
  14. It looks possible that Wisconsin-Madison might start sending out decisions next week, if they follow the same pattern as last year. I only applied to 5 programs, so I'm very nervous. My intention was to get a masters first, but decided last second that I'm ready to start my PhD and don't want to wait any longer to do so. (I'm currently in the middle of my gap year, working for a university)
  15. I applied. An undergrad prof of mine recommended I did.
