I'm sorry to hear that. I would still re-apply next year, your chances will be higher because they love second time applicants. What do you think Middebury looks for in terms of applicants? I know CLS focused mostly on commitment to the language.

This spreadsheet might actually help. It is a database of Fulbright notifications for each country/award dating back to 2010. If that doesn't help slack has with more knowledgeable applicants that might be able to answer your questions. I've seen similar q's on there. The link is on the google doc. https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1Cd86U9AreH9k_-WKLKnLCLn_C5MC3FKvZZ9RhlqSAq4/edit#gid=1793815533

From what I've seen on slack a lot of people have different programs and job opportunities to pick between. I would just keep your hopes up, being a semi-finalist for Fulbright is a huge accomplishment regardless if you receive it or not. When did you hear back from Fulbright?

I did CLS last summer, do you think it is equally as competitive. I honestly haven't hear anything about Milddebury or the Davis Fellowship before applying. What language did you apply for?

I applied for Davis Fellowship for Arabic. Do you know if it is competitive?
