I'm sorry to hear that. I would still re-apply next year, your chances will be higher because they love second time applicants.
What do you think Middebury looks for in terms of applicants? I know CLS focused mostly on commitment to the language.

From what I've seen on slack a lot of people have different programs and job opportunities to pick between. I would just keep your hopes up, being a semi-finalist for Fulbright is a huge accomplishment regardless if you receive it or not.
When did you hear back from Fulbright?
I did CLS last summer, do you think it is equally as competitive. I honestly haven't hear anything about Milddebury or the Davis Fellowship before applying.
