  1. Can the credits for the practicum be used towards the 60 credits needed without counting the 0 which comes from the pass/fail aspect of the course?
  2. Casper results in for anyone? This is first year they're releasing results. And any comments from those accepted in years past with what they think might have been less than stellar Casper results? And how much you think McGill and U of A pay attention to the Casper results?
  3. Hi there, I've got a small Dalhousie Paper-Based Application Form Question. On page 2 it asks: "Have you ever applied to, attended or worked for Dalhousie University, University of King's College or the former TUNS? Yes or No. If yes, please provide your ID #" So I applied to the SLP program last year, was rejected, and so did not receive an ID #. Question: Do I say Yes even though I have no ID#? Thanks for any clarification on this small point. I don't know if this question is on the online application form too.
  4. Thanks for the FYI! I believe other unis allow you to upload docs later. And on that point, must you also submit a transcript at the same time even if you're currently taking courses, and will later have an updated transcript?
  5. Hi again, were you surprised that you were not given an offer by Western either the first or the second time, though your waitlist would likely have converted? I've heard they are more into experience than sGPA and it would seem you satisfied that with all the volunteering, plus had a decent sGPA. Also, besides Western and U of T what were the other unis you applied to? Thank you!!!
  6. Hi there, another question related to this response.... I'm curious to know which courses you chose that were in the general interest category and may be helpful for later on. I'm wondering about whether to do that or retake some prereq courses I already have in an effort to boost the grade. Thanks again!
  7. Great, to know this info. Thanks so much. Assuming you already had all prereqs taken care of, on what basis did you choose courses to up your sGPA with and how many courses did you take each of those two years to up the sGPA?
  8. Thanks so much for this! I sent you a private message about this. I also did an exchange year in the Netherlands!
  9. Yes, really helpful! Thank you. Do you happen to know how Orpas deals with courses taken overseas on an exchange year?
  10. Hi there! Just wondering if anyone in the community has any experience with UBC's Psyc 304?
  11. Thank you! That leads now to my next question, has anybody been accepted to U of A with a prerequisite average less than 3.5?
  12. 2022 program applicant here, just wondering if anybody accepted to U of A had a B- or lower in any of the prerequisites? Just wondering about the need to re-take courses.
  13. Hi there, This message is to U of A people in particular: I'm wondering if anyone got accepted with a degree that was not at all in the speech sciences, psychology, or linguistics area, but the pre-requisites were satisfied?
  14. Thank you for that. Was your WES evaluation for a credential, i.e. a degree or was it just for some courses taken over the course of one year, for example?
  15. Hi there, Thank you for the reply! My uni lists exchange as just a pass, but I know I need to include all transcripts, and I want to include my exchange year anyway because I did very well, and the courses taken during the exchange year were credited towards my major, and are important for my sGPA. There is pertinent information on page 6 of https://www.ouac.on.ca/guide/orpas-transcript/#assessment Here it says, "Whether you are a Canadian or non-Canadian applicant, you must have your international transcript assessed by WES if: * you have not met the minimum course number criteria using your Canadian data * you require inclusion of your international education data I would be very interested in hearing from anyone who used WES for assessing some courses done on an exchange year.
  16. Can anyone shed light on how ORPAS deals with grades earned on an exchange year in Europe for their sGPA calculations?
  17. Hi there, to meet the Statistics course requirement for some schools, can anyone comment on Athabasca’s Soci 301?
  18. On the UBC website, for prerequisites, it says courses are to be at 300 and 400 level when possible. Can anyone comment on applying to UBC with multiple linguistics courses only as high as the 200 level? Other relevant course work would be upper level and other pieces of app would be strong. Just debating if worth applying without upgrading the Ling courses. And your 80 - 85% comment, is that for overall GPA or prerequisites?
  19. Can anybody comment on how strict the grade requirements are for the prerequisite courses for the different SLP programs? I think I read U of T had a B+ requirement for pre-requisites. Is that firm? How about the other programs?
  20. You sound like an awesome candidate! I'd be very surprised if you didn't get in. How were your GRE scores? IMO they should be at the bottom of the list when it comes to judging.
  21. Hi there, does anyone know how Dalhousie calculates GPA when a third year on exchange in Europe is involved?
