Was just invited to interview at the MIT/Harvard HST program! Super hyped because this is my top program, but also pretty intimidated because the interview session is 2.5 hours long and the times overlap with BIG's interviews. Not really sure how to prepare.

Just got an invite less than an hour ago! One interview session, March 3-5.

I kinda want to say also dont apply all to top school. The population post on here is very screwed.. a lot of they have near prefect gpa with publication... aim a little lower and you will have much better mental health and options in application season

Got an interview from Stanford Genetics! 

This may be controversial: I don't think that it's worth investing your heart and soul into the Ivies or the UC's. For domestic & international students alike, it's a game of 3D chess to determine who they call to interview. More often than not, it's domestic students with connections and/or legacy. I feel for international students because they are going through rings of fire due to our current administration and the lack of available spots in the Ph.D pipeline throughout the U.S. Going to lesser known and/or top 50 programs, doing a killer job, then kicking ass in your postdoc may be the most secure route for now. I know that this is a path that non-traditional domestic students consider since we're also in a difficult position here when competing against your stereotypical "strong" applicants. Don't lose the faith and keep pushing for your dreams. It's going to happen one way or another. ❤️

I would say that is a dangerous question to ask...  however, some program are willing to make some arrangement for you if you cant attend bc of some season scheduling or not... ask the coordinator again nothing is promised but really I think that is a dangerous question for you to ask

Yay! Also: my PI said that Sinai interviews are in Feb... So I guess that means that we won't hear back till... Jan? Eh?

Hard to say, but pretty high.  In general a few more students are going to be accepted knowing that not all invites are going to say yes.
