Yeah unfortunately I didn't quite realize what they meant on the website. Oh well...a waste of $125 I guess...
yea.. as internationals, we always need to make sure of the funding part..

I think this is true for international students...American students receive funding from an internal grant, but internationals need outside funding. Which seems a little strange for one of the wealthiest universities in the world...
exactly, I reached out to the program coordinator to confirm this and that's why I didn't apply to the program.

Receive the interview email from Upenn GCB this week!
Congrats! Wow you've got interviews from lots of top schools, must be hard to choose among them. Could you please share your final decision with us later on?

So sorry I am just seeing this haha! Although I was so fortunate to receive these invitations, I have decided to hone in on a smaller list so that I can also focus on schoolwork this semester: UPenn GCB, Harvard BBS, UCSF BMI, Princeton QCB, Berkeley CCB, and UChicago GGSB. I'm trying my best to keep an open mind and not pick favorites until after I've gone to the events, but I would be incredibly excited about the opportunity to attend any one of them!? Thanks for asking!
Thanks for answering my question! Those are great schools/programs.
If you don't mind, could you please share your final decision as well? I'm curious to know ppl with many great options like you choosing which programs.

Has anyone who received an interview invite for UCSD BISB & accepted it heard back about scheduling? I had a conflict on the requested date so I asked to schedule a different day, but it's been 10 days and I haven't heard back from them..
Also, has anyone heard from UC Berkeley Comp Bio (CCB) yet?
I have seen some UCB Comp Bio posts on the results section, tho. But not sure if they're done sending out invites.

Hi guys,
After the interviews, do the schools give you admissions solely based on your interview performance/scores or do they still consider your gpa/research experience and stuff even after the interviews?

Has anyone heard from Stanford BMI yet btw? I know it could still come out later this week, just being impatient haha
it seems like someone got an interview on 12/15 on the results page

Hi guys,
I was wondering if anyone knows post-interview acceptance rate for programs in general. Any ideas?

Usually its becasue international students will not be fly out. but I think this year is a little different. but if you look through their past record the number of international invites has always been low for this program.
got it.. so not just this year.
oh well, it also seems like columbia dbmi has sent out invites already..
-
Oh no.. cheer up dude! you'll get more invites from other schools.
it's surprising they're only interviewing around 4 international students this year..
why are they reviewing international students so late? is it because they want to interview domestic students first and then internationals?

Does anyone know/heard about any other programs that will be sending out invites before the holidays?

you can take a look at this page: https://bioscience.ucla.edu/wp-content/uploads/2020/11/NGLS-Admissions-Summary_2017-2020.pdf
seems like bioinformatics program accepts 50~80% of the interviewees.
