Thank you I really appreciate it!

Also - does anyone fancy making a WhatsApp/Facebook group for McCourt MPP people?

Does anyone know how much you can earn as a research assistant and during a summer internship? While I wait on my scholarship reconsideration request, I’m wondering how feasible it is to make some money while I’m there.

People, there is still a chance for some to get a scholarship from Harvard. For folks who turn down offers, some scholarships are awarded to other candidates. There is precedent for this, just back in 2018. I checked the HKS 2018 forum and found a person who got the PSF ($100K) in mid April, out of the blue. One reason this happens quite a few times is that candidates who get a significant aid from Harvard have probably also gotten the full ride at Princeton. And most go for the $160K bumper rather than Harvard's $60-100K. (If it's a Harvard full ride, then it's a different matter; but even then we had one of our forum members declining it this very year.)
The chances are slim, but you never know. Try to stay positive and expect to get lucky! I keep telling myself that.

Have any students who were admitted without funding been able to negotiate aid from HKS? I have funding from SIPA (33%), UChicago (50%), Wagner (50%) and McCourt (50%) for leverage.

I tried, but they said there is nothing more that they can offer...

Are there any circumstances under which it makes sense to accept the HKS offer with no scholarship funding? I have 50% to near full funding offers at Syracuse, Michigan, Georgetown, and Columbia but am feeling majorly hung up on Harvard based on that gut feeling I had when I opened my admission letter.
Was hoping to do a joint MPP/JD degree program but was rejected from HLS last week. Would enrolling and doing well at HKS improve chances for reapplying or is that an absurd gamble?

Just read the acceptance email more thoroughly and is said information on financial assistance will come separately from Dan_Rossi@hks.harvard.edu.

It's because Matt Clemons no longer works at the Harvard Kennedy School. He resigned this year, so whoever is guiding the admissions process now is not following tradition.

I used to wonder how people fall into Qanon traps on the internet until I started reading this forum. Now I am putting all my faith into a guy named "MPPapplicant69" and his unverified sources.

I'm in the exact same boat! Got good funding for the 2-year degree at SIPA, but no word about financial aid for the dual degree... Let me know how negotiating goes, I may do the same as you

Thank you so much for that clarification! It makes a lot of sense, maybe I was a little foolish to apply in my last year of undergrad... I'll try to do the same and give it a good wait! I wish you the best for your year abroad in Paris, I think you'll like the atmosphere!!

I don't know about these other programs, but I was also admitted to the dual degree between Sciences Po and SIPA, which is super exciting -- it seems like a great program! However, to my knowledge there is no funding for the dual degree specifically, or is there? If we got funding for SIPA alone, could that be used on the dual degree?

Hey everyone. I'm interested in the SIPA + LSE dual international program but only applied to SIPA and received $$ in scholarship over two years. How would applying to spend my second year at LSE impact the $$? Does anyone have any insight? Thanks!

And yes, does anyone have any information on the result of International Fellows Program? I applied to this program, but no news on the decision so far (also got no information on the funding ?). Is that possible that they will release the IFP decision separately? I'm pretty curious on this and planning to email the IFP coordinator if there is no update within these two days ✌️

Also curious! I was admitted to Harris, Wagner, and McCourt so far and received the same financial aid offer (50% tuition) from all three, so I don’t have a higher offer to leverage. I do have a career update (new project relevant to my policy interests) I am planning on sharing. Still waiting on SIPA’s financial aid offer and HKS.

No, I emailed them in January to ask if early action candidates would be under consideration for funding in March. Good luck to you too!

For those that are anxiously awaiting - the early action decisions were released at 7:48 PM EST. Some applicants were given scholarship decisions at that time, others (like me!) were told “we have not completed the awarding process. If selected for SIPA funding you will be notified in March, however if you are not selected you will not receive any confirmation”. So I am waiting with all of you hoping additional early action funding decisions may be released today!

In case this is helpful to anyone, I tried to leverage my Duke offer to ask for more funding, and received a response that essentially stated they only negotiate merit aid if there are new professional or academic achievements. They added that they've increased their initial offers to compensate for this new system, which explains why so many of us got 27k, an amount that, as @GradSchoolGrad pointed out, they never have before.

Thank you so much for the super detailed response! That is really reassuring - the program is my top choice and I would love the opportunity to spend a year in France.

Is there any hope that the acceptance emails are sent on a rolling basis throughout the day? ?
