I'm erring on the side of caution, especially given how fraught this whole process seems to be this year due to Covid-related budget issues. I assume that the folks who received letters from Duke Romance Studies are finalists and the virtual visit next week is an opportunity for the department to get a sense of how committed prospective students might be to the department before extending an offer and providing funding information. This is my first cycle, though, so I'm just going on intuition - happy to defer to someone with more knowledge!

Congratulations! I don't have any specific tips for Princeton. Just the same as always. Try not to stress too much about it-- interviews in this field are typically dynamic and conversational. It would be really unlikely to be grilled or interrogated or anything like that. Also don't worry about trying to show off or 'prove yourself'-- these professors will always know much more than you, and that's expected. Just try to go into it thinking of it as a conversation!
