  1. No way you just bumped an eleven year old thread that OP said was over ?
  2. Yeah, based on the website reqs, I definitely met their requirements. Not the ones stated in the email, though!
  3. I just received an email today, talked about exactly what you stated earlier. 1800+ apps, only 5% considered. I was denied due to my undergraduate being insufficient for their reqs, apparently. Knew it was a long shot with the Econ reqs but threw in my app anyways since they consider other disciplines.(BBA in Management)
  4. Oh I see, no, I haven’t heard anything from my reference. Did you hear back? Early March was the decision date for this program correct? You’d think we would have people posting about it.
  5. I applied to EGEI, I would think that your reference should have received that email a couple of weeks ago at the close of the application? I haven’t heard anything from the program. There is supposed to be an interview?
  6. It's quite possible that the number of applicants will be lower this year due to the virus and their extension. However, I thought this would be the case for a different scholarship I applied to in early 2021 (Boren), and instead it ended up being more competitive. Nonetheless, seeing the amount of activity on this thread compared to last year's Erasmus Mundus thread on this forum, it does seem like there are less applicants this year overall.
  7. If GLOCAL received 600 applications, then I do not think this is the number for the amount of persons who received a cond/uncond. offer (it's just the number of apps received). I believe those who do receive offers receive them under the guise of "self-funded", and later will or will not receive the scholarship.
  8. Congrats! Thanks for pointing the chances of scholarship while being a programme country applicant. As a dual nat., I could have applied as a Partner country instead of a Programme country but went with Programme country (Spain). Should I have applied as a partner country (USA) to increase my chances? Is there any solid acceptance statistics behind Erasmus Mundus scholarships?
  9. Thank you, best of luck to you as well. I will be interested in hearing how it goes for you with IMCEERES! The history + language side of me would love to do that program...
  10. Thank you! So, due to issues with my recommendations, I was only able to apply to TourDC. Congratulations on the uncon offer, best of luck on receiving your choice of program and scholarship!
  11. I have received a conditional offer for the TourDC Program. Fingers crossed to be selected for the Erasmus Scholarship!
  12. Hola everyone, Any applicants for the programs under Erasmus Mundus Scholarships in 2022? The deadline to submit is Jan. '22 on most, IIRC. I currently am planning on applying to the IMCEERES, TourDC, and EGEI Programs. The former two are both under the same university (Glasgow), is it advisable to apply to two programs from the same university? It's not clear to me whether the scholarship itself is "awarded" by the home institution for the program. Best of luck to all!
  13. Is anyone else's portal appearing empty? Where it used to state that I was an alternate is now blank. Tried it on three different browsers.
  14. To those that were finalists in 2020 and applied again for 2021, did you choose not to attend your program or were you unable to due to Boren Awards telling you you couldn't go?
  15. I heard back as well - alternate
  16. I'm waiting on a tweet like this today, if I don't see it by like 3PM I assume it won't be today
  17. Ahaha good point, fingers crossed!
  18. Okay, here are the announcement dates since 2015 I think: 2015: Tuesday April 21, 2015 2016: Monday April 18, 2016 2017: Monday April 17, 2017 2018: Sometime during the third week of April 16-20th 2019: Monday April 15, 2019 2020: Wednesday April 15, 2020
  19. It's probably going to come out this Friday (afternoon-evening probably) or next Monday. I don't think they would release it on a Thursday.
  20. Patience is key! I am sure we will get good news soon. In the meanwhile, the NSEP Annual Report for 2020 was released a couple of weeks ago. Worth taking a look at, maybe that will help us during this wait!
  21. I'd think this only marginally effected applicants. In 2015, NSEP reported that there were 1,135 applications, and 271 awarded (Scholar/Fellow). That was while Obama was under office, and I am sure many thought Clinton was going to be in office. Compared to 2018, its very similar numbers. Plus, certainly most Boren applicants would have been wise enough to realize that Trump was going to be a one termer (and even if two - still not much time for someone who is looking for a career in public service).
  22. I am not really sure. On the global stage, 2019 did have a lot of protests, political turmoil, and Brexit happened. We also did know about COVID in December, but it was "just" in China. Trump was also impeached around that time wasn't he? So there is a chance that dismayed many on applying by Jan/Feb.
  23. I believe this trend upwards was due to a lesser amount of applications (1000+ in 2018 compared to only 784 in 2020). I think we will see this continue, due to COVID. While Ivy-league colleges in the US have seem record amounts of applications, that's mainly an isolated incident due to them dropping required test scores... undergraduate enrollment as a whole in 2020 actually fell by a couple percent. I can't imagine many students would be willing to travel right now, let alone live in a foreign country in these uncertain times.
  24. Of course! You bring up a good question. I tried searching for that stat, but the applications by language is not available, just overall. In 2018, Scholars had a 25% Acceptance Rate and Fellows had a 34% Acceptance Rate.
