Congratulations on your offers. It is true that "most" EM universities don't belong to the top 10 but these numbers don't equate to absolute experience of students (international) and faculty. We should acknowledge how toxic academia is most especially at this generation, hence, we should not only criticize them through quantitative values as some of the points might not be thoroughly captured. The same goes with our professors/instructors/researchers. Those who have numerous publications, titles, positions and whatnot may still have a lot to improve on with other invisible/unobserved criteria (e.g., teaching skills, EQ, etc.). Downplaying Erasmus Mundus universities solely because of academic rankings is an insult to the alumni, EU, and international partners who have played numerous roles for global change and development for years, even decades. Anyway, these are just my 2 cents. Wish you good luck in Norway!

For any and all who applied to GLOCAL they just sent their decisions out!!!!
I'm gonna be that person who asks that question lmao: I was put on the reserve list but they said "You are currently placed high on the Reserve list and it is possible that an award may become available to you; however, we cannot make any guarantee of this." does anyone know when you get this line what the odds actually are?
Congrats to anyone in the thread/lurking who applied to GLOCAL and got the scholarships! I got placed on reserve lists for both of the places I applied to(EPOG and GLOCAL) and I have a strong suspicion of what made me not quite get pushed into the scholarship territory. I only did the easiest required math class, only the basic micro, macro, and international econ courses and had no business courses at all over the course of my undergrad. I graduated as an IR student so I vaguely approached some of these topics in my classes, but these programs both do not squarely fit for 'typical' IR students, of which I am one lol. I'm going to take the next handful of months to perhaps do some certificates and/or take some more math/econ classes and give it another shot in the fall if I don't get pulled up from the reserve list ?
Good luck to everyone still waiting for results!

Was just logging in to ask if anyone had heard from EM Human Rights Policy and Practice and literally at the same time received the email of admission!
Wow!
Man.
Had lost hope when I lost out on NOHA but this is so so great!

GLOCAL tweeted this on Sunday:
So your friend should be hearing from them soon! On their own website timeline they say that people should hear back the first week of April, so with this + the tweet it seems like they're meeting their deadline and that people will be notified of the scholarship real soon

Yes, I probably received the same email as you. They said that my academic background in economics is not sufficient. On the website, they only mentioned we should have the equivalent of one semester in microeconomics and macroeconomics, and some other subjects in economics were desirable. but in the email, the evaluation required intermediate level for those subjects and also requisite in other subjects, econometrics and quantitative analysis

@Tomsand my reference haven't received anything so far. Let's see if until the end of March we hear anything new.

Just got news from NOHA that I got the Erasmus scholarship (Programme country), so supposedly people should be starting to hear from them soon-ish

If GLOCAL received 600 applications, then I do not think this is the number for the amount of persons who received a cond/uncond. offer (it's just the number of apps received). I believe those who do receive offers receive them under the guise of "self-funded", and later will or will not receive the scholarship.

Good luck!

Congrats! Thanks for pointing the chances of scholarship while being a programme country applicant. As a dual nat., I could have applied as a Partner country instead of a Programme country but went with Programme country (Spain). Should I have applied as a partner country (USA) to increase my chances? Is there any solid acceptance statistics behind Erasmus Mundus scholarships?
-
Tomsand reacted to Krane in Erasmus Mundus Scholarships 2022
You could have applied as partner country applicant for better chances (depends on your declared permanent residence I believe). At least that's based on the EM guidelines I've read before, if I'm not mistaken. Since EU wants diverse scholars, they're accepting at least one or two from each country/region which means you have to be the top candidate in your country/region to have more chances. And mind you gender is also a major factor in selection. Going back, the ratio for selected applicants for scholarship is at an estimate of 1 Programme Country is to 3 Partner Country. It may not be exact but that's the general idea of it.
Wish you and everyone good luck!

I second this. I don’t think I’ve been able to find anything online, but I do know they had 20+ scholarships for the IMCEERES program this year. In past years they’d accepted about eight times that number into the program according to a letter I found online.
Between the virus and the deadline extension I suspect that number will be lower this year. Silver lining is maybe there are better odds for us?
I just received my unconditional offer for IMCEERES today! Screaming rn, but it’ll be a grueling intermission before we get word on scholarships.
Cheers, and best of luck once again

Hey! Just received an unconditional offer for the ILGSPD master (only two weeks after I applied). I am strongly doubting my chances of getting the scholarship though, as I’m a programme country applicant so very few places available. Couldn’t find a date when they’re releasing the results, but I assume end of March?
Good luck to all of you!

Thank you! So, due to issues with my recommendations, I was only able to apply to TourDC. Congratulations on the uncon offer, best of luck on receiving your choice of program and scholarship!

You can always check their program site and see which host university they do belong. You can always apply for a maximum of 3 programs for the EM scholarship, regardless of the host university. Some universities do host multiple EM programs and that's okay to be honest. And I believe all programs have mobility setup, meaning you get to study in 2 or more universities depending on you track/specialization, which you are allowed to choose in the initial stage of your application.
I hope I answered your concerns. Best of luck!!

One of my friends got Boren last year (South Africa) but hasn't been given the green-light to leave yet. A couple weeks ago, she told me that Boren sent out emails and notified last year's recipients that they'd be updated on their country-specific program status on April 16th (Friday). I'm assuming that's when we'll hear back at the earliest since I don't think it would make much sense for them to notify the new cohort about their program statuses before the older cohort. But maybe that's not the case - fingers crossed for tomorrow!!!?

Patience is key! I am sure we will get good news soon. In the meanwhile, the NSEP Annual Report for 2020 was released a couple of weeks ago. Worth taking a look at, maybe that will help us during this wait!
