  1. My personal conspiracy theory is that they pull merit funding from the Colombian college’s budget, not from the Trachtenberg school’s own budget, and they got decisions ready so late that there was basically no money left in CCAS. This is not at all substantiated, just my theory.

  2. For all those that applied at Duke, can I ask why you chose the Nicholas school over their Sanford school? I've been accepted to both with very similar offers and I'm having trouble deciding between the two. I know I don't want to do a dual degree program (I don't think it will be cost effective or worth the extra year). Any advice out there?

For all those waiting for Trachtenberg decisions - I just got accepted for the MPA program! No email yet, I just happened to check my portal.

Congrats! Did they have anything on the portal about funding or do you think that'll be in an email later?

Mine still doesn't have any MPP updates, but glad they're FINALLY rolling these out.

We've also started a GW MPP forum here if anyone was looking for one.

Aside from my rec letters, I finished my application in October and submitted everything before the Jan. 15th deadline (I think that was the one for fellowships). Tuesday, March 15th is exactly 6 weeks after the 1st. 6 weeks after we received the email on February 15th would be (God forbid) March 30th.

I also applied by the Feb 1 deadline. The GW Colombian College of Arts and Sciences has their admitted students events starting in late March with the first being March 25. I know that’s not Trachtenberg specific, but I can’t imagine results coming out later than the college beginning admitted student events.

Does it say 37.5 per year? Mine is written that way, so I interpreted it as a yearly award of $X but split between the two semesters. Also what is the other Sanford thread? Link pls :)

"We are pleased to offer you a Sanford MPP tuition fellowship in the amount of $37,500, which will be disbursed in equal installments each semester in which Sanford is your home institution/school and you are in good academic standing."

It's smaller than this one, so I think this is the main thread.

  6. Hi guys, I figured these decisions would be coming out soon and that we might want to start a thread. Anybody have news yet? I haven't heard anything since they emailed me Feb 16th saying my application was officially under review and they'd get back to me in 4-6 weeks (currently in week 3).

  7. For everyone out there with a funding offer, I got 37.5k but it says "which will be disbursed in equal installments each semester in which Sanford is your home institution/school and you are in good academic standing" are y'all interpreting that as per year or for the entire two years? I read it as for all four semester of the program so each semester being a little over 9k, but on the other Sanford thread it seems like people are interpreting the offer as a per year thing.

  8. Okay I got 37.5k but it says "which will be disbursed in equal installments each semester in which Sanford is your home institution/school and you are in good academic standing" are y'all interpreting that as per year or for the entire two years? I read it as for all four semester of the program so each semester being a little over 9k. Am I misinterpreting?

that sucks, sorry! i would probably call. what track are you in?

I applied for the Dec 15th deadline (earlier in this thread I accidentally said Jan 15th, which was Ford's deadline) and I haven't heard a peep. I applied in sustainable systems. I suppose it's possible they are waiting to admit/reject me until Ford has made its decision since I applied to their dual degree program, but I'm not sure.
