  1. Advice that I have received is that it's always important to keep and grow your scholarly network on this journey. If you believe you may work together in the future, or want to continue a non-formal mentorship relationship, you can say just what you typed. That it was a difficult decision, and you hope you can work together in the future. Be sure to thank them for the opportunity to speak with them. They may respond or may not, but doesn't hurt to send either way.
  2. Hey! Thank you ? I do believe notifications are still going out (or, haven't been officially sent out yet). I just received an email earlier today for an invite to PhD Applicant Admittance Day. I can also tell you this email was sent at like...6 pm on a Sunday night. Not sure if it was supposed to go out then. But from all the communications I have been receiving from them, it really sounds like you should be hearing back very soon!!! Within that email they confirmed that formal acceptance and offer letters are still in process. My SPIRE account still says Application Under Review, so I think they should be finalizing everything this week honestly...or at least that's what it sounds like.
  3. I have heard back from all my schools, and will be accepting at UMass Amherst for CHE PhD. I have not yet confirmed this with the school. I am waiting to speak with my prospective mentor next week about the specifics of the fellowship I was awarded, so I have a better understanding of what I'm getting myself into financially. While not an "elite" school, it's a great fit for me as an arts-based researcher in Public Health and Arts in Health and I want to stay closer to home (New Jersey) because of some family matters. Nevertheless, I'm super excited! This was my first application cycle and only applied to 3 programs (it's really hard as an arts-based researcher in PH finding a good fit). Posting here in case others get accepted or decide to attend UMass, as I'd love to connect off the forum! Also happy to connect more generally if you're interested in how the arts can compliment public health research and programming. You can find me on IG @dramatichealtheducator. Good luck to you all. What is for you, is already yours. It might take a little work, but it is yours. This forum has been helpful, and I appreciate the grace you all share with each other.
  4. Same here! I'm grateful I received an acceptance elsewhere earlier this week, so makes it sting much less. Good luck with your other programs!
  5. You're welcome, and thank you! I guess we will learn soon enough.
  6. I didn't receive an invite to interview, however, I spoke with several faculty prior to submitting my application and those conversations flowed very well. I also don't believe I saw anywhere that interviews were mandatory, so I wouldn't look too much into the interviews for this specific program. I *believe* (and may not be remembering correctly) when I went to the virtual open house that the program director informed me they accept about ~5-10 PhDs a year, but it varies from year to year. Please don't hold me to that! Also, could you link me to the results page if it isn't too much trouble?
  7. Yet another day passes, and still, no word from JHU HBS ??.
  8. Thank you!!! Yes, I've been snooping around this thread for a while but said ahhh, finally a post I can actually contribute to ? I'm very happy and excited. Wishing you the best of luck and extending grace and warmth to you as you wait to hear back from schools.
  9. Hello! My prospective mentor emailed me to let me know on February 5th that UMass faculty had "just met" to discuss applicants to CHE. Today, I received an acceptance by way of a fellowship award letter. All others, may be coming out veeeery soon! Ironically, my SPIRES account still says "Application Under Review."
