  1. I declined my offer on acorn the other day after already paying the deposit (going to medical school instead) and I emailed DLSPH a couple times but got no response. Hope someone gets my spot though. Edit: my offer was UofT MPH Epi
  2. You can enrol as a special student and just take courses without getting a degree. But what's your GPA? And other experience? Maybe it's possible that there are other aspects of your application that could be improved to make up for a poor GPA?
  3. When I asked if it was possible to get an extension on the April 12 deadline to respond they said no lol, but the latest extended date they could allow was April 15, so my guess is they want to send out second round offers maybe on or around or after Easter weekend? They may take longer though if they actually do a second round of reviews and don't just keep going down the list from the initial file review score
  4. I accepted my offer to UofT MPH Epi since that was my first choice. I'm a current uottawa undergrad so I really just applied as a backup in case I didn't get in at uoft. I was hoping to continue with my honours project lab but they don't have the funding for another MSc student so I'd have to find a new lab too. I prefer the practicum aspect of the MPH at uoft (rather than a thesis) and that it's also specializing in epi rather than a general MPH.
  5. Not sure if anyone applied to thesis-based programs but I got into MSc Epi at uOttawa last night, will be declining. Info for anyone wondering: deposit is $250, have until Apr 29 to respond to the offer but until June something to pay the deposit. Got $6000 admission scholarship ($2000 for first 3 terms if you keep grades up) due to GPA 9.0 or greater on uOttawa scale.
  6. Yeah I uploaded my confirmation and paid my deposit this morning and didn't get anything from them (except the email receipts) ?
  7. So I didn't apply to uOttawa MPH but I'm a current undergrad here and know some profs in the school of epi & public health, not sure if this is helpful for folks waiting on UO MPH but I heard some profs who review the MPH applications saying they have to finish reviewing their assigned applications by April 13th...again not sure if that's helpful but kinda gives you an idea of their timeline I guess
  8. My guess is they review all apps in a first round, rank all the applicants, and pick the top people they want for sure and send out offers. Then they do the same process in a second round with applicants that didn't make the first cut but are still good (i.e. "middle group") to try and fill the class.
  9. Dang, someone else beat me yet again to respond lol. Scratch what I said above then!
  10. For 2020 intake they had 45 seats. Personally I think it's unlikely that this number has changed. Also just because they send out acceptances on a rolling basis doesn't mean they REVIEW on a rolling basis - in fact I would be really surprised if they sent out offers of admission before reviewing all the applications they receive before the deadline. For example, I applied to MPH Epi 2 days before the deadline and got an offer earlier this week with until April 12 (2 weeks) to decide. What's more likely that they do is that they'll review all apps, then send out say 45 offers in the first wave, then see how many acceptances they get after the 2 week deadline. Then they'll send out a second wave to try and fill the class based on how many accepted/declined in the first wave. I think that's what they mean by rolling basis. So I don't think when you submitted your app matters at all as long as it was before the deadline. Source for # of seats:
  11. I submitted it on January 15 (2 days before the deadline).
  12. *EDIT: Oops sorry didn't realize this was already answered! Both - I got an email saying an update has been made to my application portal, so then I logged in and the offer letter was there and available to download.
  13. The UofT Residence for graduate students is Grad House, the waitlist is super long though. https://gradhouse.utoronto.ca/
  14. Just got an offer of admission to MPH Epi at UofT! I have until April 12 to accept and the deposit is $500. It's my top choice master's and will likely be accepting, the cost of housing in Toronto is just super high oof.
