  1. Not totally sure about that. That’s for sure that an MA from a US institution helps, but there are other ways to get attention and reassure universities that you can get the job done (this seems to be the question). So there is this guy from Brazil who was accepted everywhere last year (CHYPS and many otters). You can check the profiles in the link below. His profile is LatinAmericanFootaball…
  2. Tbh, if we all could use signatures, that makes the forum even more transparent and we can communicate among those with similar interests ? So we can update the signatures with the results - much more credible than the results page. But anyway, here is the page: https://www.thegradcafe.com/survey/?per_page=20&q=&institution=&program=Political+Science&degree=PhD&season=F23&page=2
  3. I thought I had applied for a bunch of places hahaha
  4. I got an interview in Georgetown. Results are anticipated to be out around mid-Feb…
  5. The troll is totally reacting to my previous post haha
  6. I don’t wanna revive the topic, but giving the absence of rejections from Princeton days passed, I guess we can infer that all that noise was an amazing/terrible work of a professional troll ?
  7. Applying for CP… Btw, Some more Emory rejections on the result page…
  8. I am ready to believe only the moment someone claims it here. Many ppl here already got nice places (well prepared applicants). Nobody here got Princeton? At the same time, all those people willing to report results but not to post here? Suspicious…
  9. The first schools to publish last year were Temple, Rice, Notre Dame, OSU, UW-Madison, UT-Austin, Emory, GWU, Minnesota, USCD… all of them in Jan 20s…
  10. 1) I guess you can try to convince yourself that the first answer will come no earlier than 26 or 27. So before that, don’t even sweat. 2) Read something you really like
  11. I don’t think they interview people there. Don’t worry.
  12. I did. No updates here. Last year they publish around Jan 20th the first results. So we may get news soon…
  13. This silence… no results, no interviews… But we are getting there. Next week we should have something…
  14. 20 to 30 applicants are offered admissions and… then the table turns… universities try to entice those accepted to enroll. These lucky applicants may ended up choosing other schools and at the end of the day around 10 will enroll.
  15. I know it varies across departments, but some may not be strict in terms of language requirements, if they believe you can perform well. You have two options: (1) Send them an email (they may just tell you that the committee will evaluate); (2) or you can just wait for the results. You did your best and now that applications are done, it’s up to them.
  16. I guess this was during pandemic years… Because 600 would be more than what Top-5s receive… Anyway, 350 high-qualified applicants. Let’s have faith!
  17. This is a good point. I had these numbers in my mind as well. I think I’m trying to find some way to still have hope to get Duke. And as I didn’t see anybody from methods and institutions, I thought, oh well, maybe… If anybody receive an interview in these fields, please let us know (adjustment of expectations). Yes, the process can vary a lot across universities. Thank you so much for sharing this information.
  18. My thought process: first Duke interviewed IR, now political behavior, then institutions, methodology, PE… hope I am right.
  19. Did somebody hear anything from UW-Madison? They normally start with their interviews in mid-January…
  20. Thanks for the updates guys. This is super helpful. Please let us know how the interviews will go...
  21. Forum very quiet. Just submitted a couple of apps (some dream schools) and finishing those for 12/15. I which results were announced before Christmas ?
  22. Finishing SoP and so on... I'll be much more nervous waiting for the results ? Same doubt here. Mine writing sample has 24 pages (19 text + 5 biblio)... UMich limits it to 20 pages... I think I'll send them an email.
  23. Got 164Q and 170V (I hope enough to not quant heavy programs). Also noticed ETS knocked down the percentiles. P.S. I think NYU is overestimating haha
  24. Normal cohort sizes, I suppose. Feeling anxious haha
