  1. I applied to the MSW program for the Fall 2011 and have been declined admission at CSULB, but I am interested in reapplying for the Fall 2012. I would like to apply as a transfer student. I want to complete my foundation year at CSUDH and transfer the units over to CSULB. Unfortunately, there is a limited number of units that can transfer (27 quarter units, about 18 semester units are transferable). I do not know if its worth it, but I really want to get into CSULB program. The curriculum at both the Cal Sates are very similar and almost identically the same. What are my chances? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
  2. I will be attending California State University, Dominguez Hills for my MSW. If you're planning to attend here as well, join the facebook page. Search CSUDH MSW 2011 Cohort or http://www.facebook....8131871132?ap=1

  4. Thanks. Where is the forum to "postings in Los Angeles for social workers"? Is it possible to link me the website and do you know how the oral interview would be like? Does anyone know?
  5. For CSULB, "You may check the status of your admissions application by visiting the application status web page at: www.csulb.edu/applicationstatus. You will need your 9 digit campus identification number when you log in. This number can be found on the upper right corner of your application acknowledgement letter or email."
  6. I was wondering if anyone here is considering to apply for the school's CalSWEC Program or has experienced/is familiar with the program? It seems like many cal state schools offer this stipend to a select number of students. According to the application, "full-time students receive educational stipends of $18,500 and specialized training in public child welfare in exchange for committing to work in a California public child welfare agency or at the Department of Children and Family Services upon graduation." Upon graduation, is it a continue job we still get pay or we're paying back the $18,500 as we voluntarily work for the next two years?

  8. I have been placed on the alternate list for USC. Have you received any update on your admission/waiting list?
  9. scribbledoodle, Have you heard back from CSULB yet?
  10. I finally heard back from USC a couple of days ago. I am currently put on the waiting (alternate) list. I submitted my application mid February so you should be hearing back from them soon, hopefully. Are you considering to attend USC once you get admitted?
  11. Yes, I will. I am waiting to hear back from CSULB. I heard back from USC a couple of a days ago and found out I am on the waiting list.
  12. Sorry, I only realized my application status has changed when my niece told me I have received a letter from CSUDH.
  13. It has been a while since someone last posted on here. Is anyone still waiting to hear back from USC? Have you received any e-mail/letter yet? If anyone has any update on USC admission, please let us know. Thank you! :]
  14. Wow.. nice! Unfortunately, I cannot say the same. Is that including loans or just grant(s)? I received enough aid to cover only mandatory fees. I might have to take out a loan to cover the rest.
  15. It might have been a month and half to two months. I cannot recall the date I submitted my application but I am sure sometime in February. I received an admission letter dated on April 13th and was told to submit a Statement of Commitment form by April 29th.
  16. If you applied to FAFSA, have you received your financial aid awards yet? Did you get enough aid to cover tuition?
  17. Congratulation! Does that mean you'll be attending CSUDH in the fall? I sent in my letter of commitment two days ago, but I applied to the 2-year (full time program) with a CYF concentration as well.
  18. Thank you! Unfortunately, I cannot recall the date I submitted my application but I am sure sometime in February. If you received an acceptance letter, are you planning to attend CSUDH? Good luck!
  19. Thanks! I called the admission office and they also told me the same thing so I will be submitting my decision letter.
  20. I received an e-mail from Amber on the 15th of April informing me that my application has been processed and will be sent for faculty review.
  21. I got accepted to CSUDH! Does anyone know how great is their MSW program or reputation?
  22. I received a letter (dated on April 13th) from CSUDH regarding my acceptance. CSUDH wants me to decide by the April 29th, but I haven't heard back from any of the other schools yet. I really want to wait and see if I have been admitted to any of the other schools first, but I do not think I have enough time to wait it out. Is anyone going planning to attend CSUDH for the fall? For anyone that's reading this, any suggestions/advice is very much appreciated! Thank you.
  23. I received a rejection letter from CSULA last week dated on March 21, 2011. However on the letter it say, I may reapply for admission to the MSW program for Fall 2011. I am planning to give them a call tomorrow.
  24. Congratulation! Unfortunately, I am still in the waiting process... ><' ah, this wait is driving me crazy!
  25. Sigh`.. I just found out I did not get accepted to CSUDH. I feel really worried now...
