Hi Forry!
I don't think congratulations are in order yet but thank you for the positive vibes! How are your applications going?

Hi there,
I was contacted by both departments at Baylor to which I applied: one e-mail was from the professor I want to work with in the Ecological, Earth, and Environmental Science PhD program, and the other was from the director of the Biology doctorate program. The latter e-mail informed me that I would get a decision sometime next week (March 14-18).
I also applied to Texas Tech's biology program. Good luck to you with your applications!

Hello,
I was just curious if anyone here knew anything about how competitive the biology graduate program at Texas Tech is.
Thanks, and good luck everybody!

1.) drink a bottle of Jack Daniels without the coke as a spritzer
2.) eat a whole Trader Joe's pound of dark chocolate with almond
3.) start devising ways to get my dog admitted into grad school next season ( :

So have you officially selected a faculty member to be your major professor should you be admitted? I expect we won't hear anything until at least March 5, considering the deadline was just 2 days ago!

Hello! Yes, in Waco, Texas...

Hello!
I have a 3.9 GPA in my Environmental Biology Masters program and had a 3.9 GPA in undergrad in the Environmental Science program at University of Maryland Baltimore County. I was a Research Experience for Undergraduates Fellow at Horn Point Laboratory and worked on sedimentation in the Chesapeake Bay area. I am wrapping up my Masters thesis on the effects of river substrate on the behavioral interactions between two invasive and one native crayfish species in Maryland. I got a 610 on the quantitative and a 610 on the verbal sections of the GRE, and a 5 for the essays. I am usually a great test-taker but the GRE presented some problems for me because of the speed required to answer all the questions! I currently also work as a contractor to the EPA and review pesticide ecotoxicity studies for scientific soundness, and perform statistics on the data and calculate toxicity values that are used for ecological risk assessment.
I have applied for the PhD biology programs at Baylor University and Texas Tech University, and I have also applied to the Earth, Ecology, and Environmental Science program at Baylor.
Good luck to everybody on their applications!

Hello,
Is there anyone else in this forum that has applied to Baylor's biology or earth, ecology, and environmental science Ph.D. programs? Our application deadline isn't even here yet, it's Feb. 15th. I was just curious if anyone else has ever applied and knew anything about the applicant pool. Thanks!

Hello,
This is my first time posting a topic in this forum. Has anyone else here applied to any of Baylor University's PhD programs that don't include the medical programs? I applied to the Ecological, Earth, and Environmental Science program and to the biology program. Because this is a private school, it's really hard to get any hard information on how many people apply each year and how many are accepted. Though I did hear from the person I selected as my major professor that only 2 students were accepted into the environmental science program. ) :
I wish you all best of luck in getting into your programs!
Anyone applying to Baylor?

Hi there!
I received an offer Wednesday evening from the biology PhD program. This is their first round of acceptances. Good luck to everyone!
