I'm really hoping for notifications tomorrow. I have a thesis due in the next week, so I'd really love to free myself from the need to compulsively check my e-mail every 10 seconds. Come on DAAD, please let us all have our sanity back this week!!

Hey all. This wait is killing me. How certain are we that their offices close at 5pm rather than 6pm???? I'm just hopeful I guess.

I switch between refreshing grad cafe and my email. I made a folder for anything with DAAD or the name of the grant so that when the email comes, I can have some time to collect myself (and perhaps ready the wine?).

I just found out that I was named as a Principle candidate to do public health research in Japan! My notification status was in the email heading (P). I'm so excited I can hardly type!!!

Children's books for the win.  Harry Potter in your foreign language is a nice one for intermediate-level learning, if you're familiar with the series!

I am pretty sure that the ETA Germany always comes out the last few days of March because they are competing with the USTA Austria that comes out in the first week of April. Don't know how that effects the research, but I am assuming all of Germany is the same day (or days).

My prediction of the day:  UK Notifications will go out next week on Tuesday.  Why?  1) I want them to and I would like to feel like I have control over it by guessing. This obviously is logical and in no way obsessive.  2) For the past 5 years, they've gone out the 3rd week of March, and all but one of those have been on a Tuesday. 3) ...... I don't know! Why do I keep doing this?!
