  1. Hey all, applicant coming straight from undergrad here! I've narrowed my choices down to two PsyD programs: Loyola Maryland and University of Indianapolis. This is a really tough decision. Both schools are ranked highly, both have great faculty, students at both seem to love their programs, and both cities are attractive. What could break this tie? Anyone who goes/has gone there have an opinion? Thank you and good luck in your decision making as well!
  2. Is there a facebook group for accepted students ? Loyola Maryland
  3. Hey ya'll, I have been waitlisted to Loyola Maryland and was told that I was on the first tier within the three tiers. Today I received an email saying that they accepted the first group of people off of the waitlist and I was not one of them. Has this happened to anyone else OR Does anyone else know how many people have been waitlisted from Loyola Maryland SLP School?
  4. Hello! I wanted to see if there are any other people applying to Loyola University Chicago! I have always liked their program but after receiving my acceptance I found myself thinking of it as a my top choice! I went to an open house and the current students and alumni emphasized how much they valued their time in the program. They stated that the clinical program is extremely comprehensive, and ensures that it students can take what they learn and use it practically as clinicians.
  5. Hey, everyone I was recently admitted to Simmons and Smith MSW programs, but both were entirely too expensive (around 80k in debt, taking into account both scholarships and grants). I've been pretty bummed about it and now I'm worried I won't be able to pull off going to grad school in the fall, even despite getting accepted. I have also been admitted to BC and Loyola, but haven't heard back about funding for either. I'm hopeful, but still skeptical. I have read a few threads asking how much debt is too much, etc. and it seems that the general consensus is that it's a personal preference. This has made me curious. How much are you, personally, okay with going into debt for a MSW? What is your thought process to come to that conclusion? What are the ways that you expect going into that debt will be worth it in the long run? I still realize that this will end up being a personal preference, but I think it is a worthwhile conversation. I hope somebody can bring some points to light that I hadn't previously thought of.
  6. Hi all, I'm wondering if anyone can give me some advice and comparisons regarding the English departments and MA programs at Loyola, UIC, and DePaul? I've applied to all three. I've been accepted to Loyola and Depaul MA in English programs, both without funding. I'm still waiting to hear back from UIC, getting very nervous at this point. I'm leaning towards UIC if I get accepted. UIC also offers no funding for MA students. Does anyone have any comments on the comparisons of the English departments and the schools? I would love to hear any feedback you have. Thank you.
