  1. Hi guys, I posted a topic a few weeks ago, and now I am posting again because the decision gets harder...... Now I have got the following admissions, and all are STEM programs: Pratt - Information Experience Design (IED) Parsons - Design and Technology (DT) SVA - Interaction Design (IXD) NYU - Interactive Telecommunication Programs (ITP) California College of Arts - Interaction Design (IXD)* *= 1 year. The rest are 2-year programs. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ My goal is to become a UX / Interaction Designer because I enjoy t
  2. Hi! First time posting here. I applied to SVA’s IXD, Pratt’s IED (Information Experience Design), and Parsons’ DT (Design and Techonology) programs for the upcoming fall 2020 semester. I’m still waiting for the decision from SVA, got waitlisted at Parsons, and got accepted at Pratt with no scholarship. Is anyone still waiting for SVA? I know the april 15 deadline is coming up and I feel like I might not get a decision email by them.. I wasn’t able to get a decision letter on March 16 since I didn’t deliver all my materials before Jan 15. Even so.. do you think I will still get a de
  3. hello hello! I have been trying to decide between SVA and Parsons MFA Fine Arts. I wasnt able to find a lot of information online for these fine arts programs. Has anyone attended these programs or have any info that could be helpful. Any help much appreciated since I am running out of time to register! thank you all!
  4. Hey guys, I am on the waitlist of SVA MFA Design. Do you guys know the chances of getting in? Although I got admitted into Pratt but I really like the program at SVA and still want to wait till April 15th. Fingers crossed!
  5. Hi! I got into the following programs. My favorite program is SVA as it seems like the most well-rounded program and that is important to me as someone coming without a design undergrad degree. But the price tag is very high... Anyone else thinking of these programs? SVA Products of Design MICA Social Design with $15,000 scholarship Parsons Design and Technology with 20% scholarship
  6. I've applied to several Low Res MFA programs. I'm a returning student and did not expect all these acceptances. Additionally, two schools have offered funding ranging from one-third to one-half. The other 3 have told me that there are offers but they do not yet have numbers available. Commuting is possible at SVA. The others would require 6-8 weeks per year in a dorm which sounds more hellish every time I think about it. Should I put on my big girl panties and go to SAIC as it is my first choice? Should I go to SVA because it is almost as highly ranked and I get to sleep in my own bed and
  7. Greetings all. Any though's on SVA's Photo, Video and Related Media program versus the School of the Art Institute of Chicago photo program, or just the two schools in general? What about Pratt's Digital Imaging MFA? I think Chicago is great and would like to move there, but NYC seems to be the place for anything photo related--but don't want to fool myself. I'm more of a fine art shooter than commercial but I know there's crossover. Anyone pick a school and then regret it and drop out to try again the following year? Thanks

  9. Hey all, Was wondering if anyone out there had any advice of input on a few post undergrad- pre graduate art programs that are specifically designed to help build a portfolio to apply to grad schools. I have recently been accepted (for the summer) into programs at VCU, the Tyler School of Art, and SVA. I'm specifically looking into the programs for sculpture which I know VCU has a big rep but I'm not sure about the other ones, so I'm reaching out to see if maybe anyone has done one of these summer programs or has any recommendations.
  10. Hi All - I just received my acceptance letter from NYU Steinhardt MA in Art Therapy (crazy excited!), but the letter indicates I will receive my financial aid package "in the next few weeks", and that I must accept by 3/15 for my spot to be held. However, I may not hear from the School of Visual Arts (the other program I am interested in) until early March and, if accepted, may not receive my financial aid package until well after 3/15. Has anyone else dealt with a situation like this and, if so, am I just SOL or are graduate programs (like NYU) flexible in these dates? I just want to
  11. I have been accepted to two MFA programs and am facing a dilemma in deciding between the two. I would love to hear any advice anyone has to offer. The first program is an MFA in Interaction Design from the School of visual arts and the second is an MFA in Design+Technology from Parsons. SVA is my dream school and definitely has the upper hand in terms of quality of faculty, and student work. Parsons on the other hand offered me a scholarship worth 50% of my tuition. It is still a good program, but i have some serious reservations about it, namely its size (90 per class as opposed to
