  1. Does this exist? I felt like there should be a place where we can post on here (I know about the MFA draft facebook but that thing stresses me out.) So far I've been rejected by Ohio State and I still have pending: Michener, New Writers Project, Michigan, UMass Amherst, NYU, Brown, Houston. What about y'all?

    2019 GEM Fellowship

Hi all! So, I noticed a forum hasn't been created for the GEM Fellowship 2019 applicants. I was wondering if anyone else is applying this year and/or has advice on applying for it. This is my first year applying, and I am having some trouble with the personal statement. What have you all included in your statements? Also, here we can update each other on our statuses and discuss any other questions people may have. Here are the links to a few of the past years of these discussions: GEM 2018 GEM 2017 GEM 2016 GEM 2015 GEM 2014
  4. It's that time in the application season--time to create a thread for declining offers/withdrawing applications. If you're declining an offer/withdrawing an app, post about it here.
  5. Hi all!! I noticed there were a decent amount of people on here applying for MSE graduate degrees, so I figured I would make this. Good luck to everyone! I'm starting a thread only for acceptances. The other thread is bound to become confusing and bloated very quickly.

    Fall 2019 School Psychology Applicants

Hi everyone! I decided to create a thread for the peeps applying for school psychology programs for Fall 2019! What schools are you applying to? Are you going for an EdS or PhD program? How did you pick your programs? In general, how is the whole process going for you all? I hope I can get people to add on to this because it would be nice to have people to relate to haha. I am personally applying for PhD programs. My finalized list (so far) includes: Northern Arizona University, University of Memphis, University of Washington, and University of Virginia. I am excited to hear about everyone else!
  8. Sup everyone, My name is Elia and I applied for a Master in Robotics, Systems and Control at ETH. I also applied for the ESOP scholarship. I thought it would be nice to start a new thread for this year's waiting process, in order to share our interviews (if any), advice, etc. Let's see if this works

    MFA Directing 2019- Let's Connect

Hi all, I ended up lurking last year and it looked like the forum was helpful and interesting to those involved. So, since I've been chomping at the bit and waiting to take another swing at Grad school, I wanted to go ahead and get the conversation started. About me: I applied to several directing programs in 2015 and went through URTA. Schools: Indiana, Illinois State, East 15, Yale, Northwestern, Cal Arts, FSU, Brooklyn. I interviewed with Indiana, Illinois State, Yale, Northwestern, East 15, and FSU. I received offers from East 15 (couldn't afford it) and Illinois State (not a good fit). My wife applied to MFA Acting programs and was accepted into one of her top choices. So we decided to do that. Last year I applied to Yale again (we decided we could be apart for a year if I got into Yale because...it's freakin Yale). I made it to the first round again and was not selected for the final weekend visit. I can only afford to apply to programs that are fully funded so this year I am applying to Boston U, Brown, Northwestern, and Yale (again). I am seriously considering USCD. Maybe: Purdue and CMU. I won't do URTA this year. Not a great experience. This will probably be my last crack at grad school, so fingers crossed. What is everyone else looking at?

    2019 MPH CANADA

Hello, As Public Health applications will be opening soon (depending on when you're applying to of course) and being the thread for last year was already released months before this, I jumped the gun and thought a thread for us to discuss, share our thoughts, feelings, fears, and the trials and tribulations of Public Health applications would be helpful. I also find it helpful to know who's applying where I'm excited to start this journey and I'm hoping we all see acceptance letters/emails in under a year! Schools/programs I plan to apply to: UBC MPH UBC MSc in PPH (already have my eye on a supervisor though) SFU MPH U of Manitoba MScPH
  17. Hey guys! I haven't seen a thread about this so far. So I wanted to start it. I'm an international student going to Penn State this fall under the PhD Chemistry program.

    SJSU MSW Fall 2019

Hi all, still waiting to hear back from SJSU for there online MSW program. Has anyone heard back? I’ve read latest would be June.
  19. Can someone please help in providing me the questions that are asked on the interview and also their answers in key points? It would be a great help!
  20. Any update ?
  21. Hey everyone. I applied to the following MPH programs: University of Alberta, University of Saskatchewan, Lakehead and SFU. I've heard back from Saskatchewan so far (yay!) I have a BSc in Global Health. My goal is to work in Health Promotion. I'd like to have temporary placements in different parts of the world (esp. Latin America), but my permanent goal is to work in Northern Canada (I'm from ON, but I currently live in NWT). Could you share some thoughts on these different programs? UofA: specialization on Health Promotion. Saskatchewan: seems great, doesn't focus specifically on Health Promotion but I like the variety of courses (everything from Environmental PH to PH policy...). Lakehead: specialization on Indigenous and Northern Health. SFU: to be honest I don't know much about it. I applied because friends from BC highly recommended it ("It's the Harvard of the West Coast!") ---- Also, could someone clarify this from Saskatchewan: "The School of Public Health has reviewed your application and has recommended you for admission to the College of Graduate and Postdoctoral Studies (CGPS), which is the formal granting body for admissions. Once you accept your seat to the program, we send your information to CGPS for final review. From there, if they believe the student is a suitable candidate, they will send an official letter of acceptance via email and the student will be required to officially accept their seat via an online portal (PAWS). Admission may be revoked if students do not meet the criteria that CGPS has laid out in the official letter of acceptance. The deadline to accept your seat is March 1, 2019. " How does that work? If I choose Saskatchewan, I'm scared to accept their offer, reject others, and then have their offer revoked and be left with no programs.
  22. Hello everyone, Figured I would make an account to continue in the time-honored tradition of collective freak-outs in the month leading up to graduate admissions. Do you know of any school that has already sent out admission results to PhD applicants in chemical engineering for the fall 2019 season? If you've gained admission to a specific school, would you mind sharing your profile (GPA, GRE, TOEFL if you're an international, research experience, and so on)? Thank you and may the odds be ever in your favor!
  23. Inspired by @bigdatagirl 's idea. If anyone is applying for graduate programs in the Spring or Fall of 2019, feel free to post your profile and the colleges you are applying to. Just interested in what kind of profiles and applicants are out there. Undergraduate Major: Applied Math Institution: TCNJ GPA: 3.1 GRE: 162 Q / 151 V/ 5.0 A Relevant Courses: Regression, Data Mining, Database management, Intro to Data, Data management (taking now), Probability (taking now), Business Analytics (taking now) Applying to: Drexel, Penn State, Rutgers, NJIT, Northeastern, UMDUC, Villanova

    MT OISE 2019

Hey guys, I figured we would need a forum to stew in as we wait for our responses. I heard that last year it took quite a while for the school to send out all their acceptances so I'm hoping we have better luck this year! We can just use this to let others know when we get info back or to list our teachables and hours to get a feel for what they're looking for!
