  1. Hello, As Public Health applications will be opening soon (depending on when you're applying to of course) and being the thread for last year was already released months before this, I jumped the gun and thought a thread for us to discuss, share our thoughts, feelings, fears, and the trials and tribulations of Public Health applications would be helpful. I also find it helpful to know who's applying where I'm excited to start this journey and I'm hoping we all see acceptance letters/emails in under a year! Schools/programs I plan to apply to: UBC MPH UBC MSc in PPH (already have my eye on a supervisor though) SFU MPH U of Manitoba MScPH
  2. Hi all! So, I noticed a forum hasn't been created for the GEM Fellowship 2019 applicants. I was wondering if anyone else is applying this year and/or has advice on applying for it. This is my first year applying, and I am having some trouble with the personal statement. What have you all included in your statements? Also, here we can update each other on our statuses and discuss any other questions people may have. Here are the links to a few of the past years of these discussions: GEM 2018 GEM 2017 GEM 2016 GEM 2015 GEM 2014
  3. Hi Everyone, I created this thread for all of us applying to Canadian Audiology programs. This is a nice way for all of us to support each other throughout this application process! Good luck everyone!
  4. Does this exist? I felt like there should be a place where we can post on here (I know about the MFA draft facebook but that thing stresses me out.) So far I've been rejected by Ohio State and I still have pending: Michener, New Writers Project, Michigan, UMass Amherst, NYU, Brown, Houston. What about y'all?
  5. Since there is no forum for KAUST admissions for Fall 2019, I decided to open one. I applied on october 13th, still no response. Best!
  6. Sup everyone, My name is Elia and I applied for a Master in Robotics, Systems and Control at ETH. I also applied for the ESOP scholarship. I thought it would be nice to start a new thread for this year's waiting process, in order to share our interviews (if any), advice, etc. Let's see if this works
  7. Hello, I am waiting for offer of admission from Master of Teaching program at OISE for Fall 2019. Anyone received an update on their application? I applied for J/I Mathematics.
  8. I'm starting a thread only for acceptances. The other thread is bound to become confusing and bloated very quickly.
  9. Hi all, still waiting to hear back from SJSU for there online MSW program. Has anyone heard back? I’ve read latest would be June.
  10. Hello! Has anyone hear back from NTU regarding their PhD application? My friend received his offer last week but it’s radio silence for me! Does it mean it’s a rejection
  11. Hi everyone! I decided to create this thread for those heading to NYU in the Fall. I'm going to be attending as a French Lit PhD student! I'm looking forward to getting to know everyone!
  12. Hi everyone, I graduate this Friday (well I'm walking the stage and I have 2 online summer classes to go) and I'm so nervous and scared for my future. I really want to go to grad school to get my MSW but I am so burnt out from undergrad that I am taking a gap year. Also it was so expensive to apply to grad school. My bachelors of science is in Human Development and Family Studies with a minor in Latino/a Studies. My dream grad school is University of Chicago but I am too afraid to apply or even apply to other schools. I'm so afraid of failure and rejection. I just wanted to know how and why you think you got accepted into those SW programs? I have done a lot of service and social justice activism/work in my undergrad, as well as being apart of many different orgs and having leadership positions. I just think my grades espeically senior year grades are not the best. I don't know my final grades but I'm hoping my GPA would stand at 3.0 or higher at the end.
  13. Hey everyone! I haven't seen a thread about Wisconsin-Madison for people starting this fall, so I wanted to start one. I personally have a ton of questions for other people (housing options, relocation tips, what you've heard about Madison, etc...), and I also want to get to know other people starting programs the same time as me. Just for background, I am starting my PhD in Political Science. My subfields are American and Methods, and my expertise is in media, political communication, Congress, and elections. I am coming straight out of undergrad (graduating in a month!), and I am a first generation student. Looking forward to meeting more of you!
  14. Hello, everyone! I know that it's a bit early in the admissions cycle, but I recently submitted my application to Chicago and I started getting excited. Hoping that we can share information about decisions, scholarships, and anxiety as time goes on!
  15. I have applied to 2019 philosophy MA in Stanford and it has been radio silence since then. My application status is always 'submitted', making me wonder is there even an 'under review' status? I have checked past results posted on this site, the only information I get is that in 2016 someone recieved their MA offer on May 4th and someone else said Stanford forgot to send the rejection letter. I am really anxious since this is my first choice and I have turned down Tufts(and any other funded masters) before April 15th. Anyone heard form Stanford's philosophy MA now? Anyone knows whether there is an 'under review' status in their online application system? Should I solicit their decisions? Any advice/comments/information? Please say something to me! Thank you so much!
  16. Hey guys! I haven't seen a thread about this so far. So I wanted to start it. I'm an international student going to Penn State this fall under the PhD Chemistry program.
  17. I noticed there's usually one WAITLIST thread every year. This is where you can post about schools that you are waiting to hear back from. Consequently, if you are holding multiple offers and would like to get opinions, you can post here as well!
  18. It's that time in the application season--time to create a thread for declining offers/withdrawing applications. If you're declining an offer/withdrawing an app, post about it here.
  19. Post here if you were waitlisted.
  20. Hi all, I ended up lurking last year and it looked like the forum was helpful and interesting to those involved. So, since I've been chomping at the bit and waiting to take another swing at Grad school, I wanted to go ahead and get the conversation started. About me: I applied to several directing programs in 2015 and went through URTA. Schools: Indiana, Illinois State, East 15, Yale, Northwestern, Cal Arts, FSU, Brooklyn. I interviewed with Indiana, Illinois State, Yale, Northwestern, East 15, and FSU. I received offers from East 15 (couldn't afford it) and Illinois State (not a good fit). My wife applied to MFA Acting programs and was accepted into one of her top choices. So we decided to do that. Last year I applied to Yale again (we decided we could be apart for a year if I got into Yale because...it's freakin Yale). I made it to the first round again and was not selected for the final weekend visit. I can only afford to apply to programs that are fully funded so this year I am applying to Boston U, Brown, Northwestern, and Yale (again). I am seriously considering USCD. Maybe: Purdue and CMU. I won't do URTA this year. Not a great experience. This will probably be my last crack at grad school, so fingers crossed. What is everyone else looking at?
  21. Hi all!! I noticed there were a decent amount of people on here applying for MSE graduate degrees, so I figured I would make this. Good luck to everyone! Use the template below to plug in your applicant information: _________________________________________ Undergrad Institution (approx. rank/reputation in STEM): Major(s): Minor(s): GPA in Major: x.xx/4.00 Overall GPA: x.xx/4.00 Demographics/Background: GRE Scores: Q: xxx (xx%) V: xxx (xx%) W: x.x (xx%) LOR: Research Experience: Publications/Abstracts/Presentations: Awards/Honors/Recognitions: Fellowships/Funding: Pertinent Activities or Jobs: Other Miscellaneous Accomplishments: Anything else in your application that might matter (faculty connections, etc.): Research Interests: Institutions/Programs: Comments:
  22. Just wanna start a post for Columbia Data Science 2019 fall applicants. Has anyone heard back yet? Or what is your process?
  23. Hi everyone! I decided to create a thread for the peeps applying for school psychology programs for Fall 2019! What schools are you applying to? Are you going for an EdS or PhD program? How did you pick your programs? In general, how is the whole process going for you all? I hope I can get people to add on to this because it would be nice to have people to relate to haha. I am personally applying for PhD programs. My finalized list (so far) includes: Northern Arizona University, University of Memphis, University of Washington, and University of Virginia. I am excited to hear about everyone else!
  24. Hey Y’all. I’ve been accepted into the MSW programs at Penn and Boston University and i’m Curious if there are others out there who are trying to decide between the two programs? I haven’t visited either, and wondering if I should go next week. Thanks!
  25. If you were rejected, come here to tell us about it. We can't empathize with you if you don't tell us about it first.
