For all those waiting it out
-
Hi, I've been admitted to the Goldman school and LKY for the MPP and unfortunately haven't secured funding in either. I'm based out of India and have worked in Urban Governance for close to 6 years. I'm open to the kind of work I do after graduating but I'm not that keen on working in the states either given unstable visa situations and also because my spouse is based out of Bangalore. Graduate student debt is a real threat and I can only imagine the difficulty one can face in paying it off. That said, getting admitted to Berkeley was a dream come true and I'm trying really hard to

Thought it was strange that there isn't a thread for Goldman this year, so I'm just starting one! Anyone else waiting on Goldman? Any guesses when the results will be out?

This forum topic seems to come up every year and it is very lucky to be having this conversation. Would love to hear other people's thought processes as they compare the two programs and also from any current or former students who might have made this choice or have insider information about either GSPP or HKS.

Starting a thread for anyone awaiting a decision from the Goldman School of Public Policy at Berkeley on MPP admissions. Anyone have any intel/guesses on a date for admissions decisions?

Goldman, Heinz. LBJ, or UCLA? I understand Goldman emphasizes state politics/local gov in CA, LBJ has great faculty and good connections in TX, and CMU has good recognition on the East Coast. Applying to grad schools I was focused more on domestic policies but recently I've been considering taking an international approach (thus the dearth of IR focused MPP programs I applied to ) So if I had to choose from what I have, which program would give me the best education/placement/int'l exposure? Mainly to China/East Asia. Thanks for the help guys. Decision dates are coming soon D:

Hi! I have a GPA of around 2-2.5. in equally bad in both undergrad (commerce, business, accounting) and Masters (Economics). I have a decent GRE score of above 1400, quant - 720-800 and verbal 700-800. Final score will be available in mid-november. I am interested in pursuing a PhD in public policy. Can anyone kindly suggest point to me the kind of universities that I should target? I am planning to apply to the top schools like HKS, Goldman I will need full funding... Any advice will be highly appreciated.
