    Bad interview(?)

Hi guys! Today I had an interview for a PhD Fulbright scholarship. The interview was via Skype since I’m currently in the US, and everything was going quite well at the beginning. I was confident and very fluent and clear with all my responses, but in one moment, out of the blue, the internet connection started failing. The persons on the other side weren’t able to hear me and I couldn’t hear them either. I was so disappointed after the interview ‘cause I had prepared for this during almost one year. I got good grades and letters of recommendation, and good essays as well. Do you think I still have some hope or everything was just a waste of time? Thanks for reading me!

    Erasmus Mundus Applications 2019

Is anyone else waiting for Erasmus Mundus application results? What programme/s did you apply to? How have you been handling the wait? Has anyone been accepted/waitlisted/rejected already? Since there are no Erasmus Mundus 2019 threads, let's talk!
  4. Does anyone have any info/a review on the Teach NYC Scholarship? Any info regarding personal, or if you know anyone and/or just heard about it in general. I'm having a hard time debating if I should apply to a school because they offer that, or just go with the school that is more expensive--pretty much just don't know if its worth to apply to or not. ANY info helps!!
  5. Hey folks! So I was notified today that I have received a scholarship worth 20,000 USD from U of Florida. I was planning to decline their admission offer today. I would have preferred being given some time before re-assessing my decisions, however, I have to make the decision today or else the scholarship offer would not stand. How weird is this???
  6. I called them last week, they said we should hear about funding by the end of this week!
  7. Hi everyone, I have applied for DAAD scholarship for summer school and last week my status got changed from selection made to funding. Does that means that I got the scholarship? What should I do? Do I need to write them an email because I didn't get an email from DAAD?
  8. Financial generosity and aid is one of the most important factors that we consider when we apply and make our decisions. I am hoping to start a thread where we post about programs that give out generous funding. This thread will be resourceful to the future applicants who want to know about the schools and their aid policy. Let's compile it in this format - School and Program: Financial aid info: (for example, based on what you've heard about the program and what you've seen. info like only 1-2 people gets full ride, everyone gets minimum 15k, everyone gets full ride etc. of that sort) In the program/Accepted?: Yes/No (if possible with your aid info as well)
  9. Hi guys, So I applied to the MA program in Comparative Cultural Analysis at the University of Amsterdam in Fall 2019. Deadline for program application was March 1, but I submitted mine before Jan 15 because I also applied to the Amsterdam Merit Scholarship. On March 11 the school sent me an announcement that I was granted the scholarship. However, they told me that the fact I got the scholarship meant I “would likely be an excellent student for the program,” but I was “not yet officially admitted to the program.” They said the scholarship and the admission are 2 separate processes, and that the admission result will come in 3-4 more weeks (which means April 15-30). I am freaking out because this is a very weird situation. Do you think I should be worried about not being admitted at all, even given the scholarship. I know the scholarship is given to competitive candidates (only a few are provided to the whole Humanities department) but since they said it is separate from the admission, would the admission board ignore it? Or would the scholarship guarantee a place for me already? Thanks.

    Funding Considerations - Advice Needed

Hi all, Is a score of 307 too low for funding consideration and/or admission to an MPP program? I am not great at standardized tests which is why I am debating retaking it, however, I am not sure I can do that much better. This is the one portion of my application that is causing me anxiety. 5.5 Writing 153 Q 154 V My undergraduate GPA is 3.33 (3.60 in my major) and I will have five years of work experience by the time I enroll. Most of my experience is in private sector within the healthcare industry. Schools I am applying to: Michigan (Ford), Duke (Sanford), and Chicago (Harris). Thank you.

    cost of living grant?

hi all. I've been admitted to a PhD program and I'm getting an ok stipend, but relative to the city I'm moving to I'll barely be making it by. Do cost of living scholarships even exist? Are there things that I can apply for to subsidize cost of living? FYI I'm on a student visa

The Emerging Leaders in the Americas Program (ELAP) scholarships are facilitated through institutional collaborations and student exchange agreements between Canadian and Latin American or Caribbean institutions. These agreements are created between colleges, technical or vocational institutions and universities. I am JuanD (Colombia) and I successfully obtained an ELAP scholarship on 2014. 16. Hi, I've applied to a 5 grad schools for Engineering Management and I'm yet to receive the decisions from 4 schools. One of the schools has offered me admissions as well as a scholarship offer. However, I've the deadline to respond to this in about another week's time. This school is my 5th choice among the 5 schools. Can I accept the offer now and then later decline it if I get into any of the other schools? Or should I ask for a date extension as to when I can accept or decline their offer?

    OGS 2018-2019

Hello guys, I applied for OGS 2018-2019 and I received an email from my university's school of graduate studies last month saying that I was nominated by my department, and they needed some additional information to confirm my eligibility and I am wondering what does this mean in terms of being awarded or not? Maybe someone can give me a clue whether he/she received such an email and whether they were awarded the scholarship or not?

  25. I am trying to decide between which two Biotechnology programs to attend in the fall. The first program is the NYU Biotechnology and Entrepreneurship Program which is great because of its interdisciplinary curriculum in both biotechnology and business. They also offerered me a generous scholarship. On visiting the campus and speaking with faculty it seems promising. I was selected for an additional scholarship and feel like the financial aid office is forthcoming with working with me to cover tuition costs. The research areas are good with opportunities to do research at the renowned memorial Sloan Kettering cancer center. Their career center also seems to be very effective with support for internships, interviews, jobs and whatnot and NY is at the center of it all. There is however no denying that cost of living and accommodation in the city is ridiculously high. On the other hand, Northwestern University's Biotechnology program comes with a minor in Engineering management/ Entrepreneurship with a similar flexibility to NYU but with a seemingly greater concentration on developing wet lab skills. It's location in Evanston, IL a Chicago school town is nice and it's a large campus. On visiting the campus, the faculty also seem welcoming and they have interesting personal development courses, site-visits to biotechnology companies on the east coast for networking, career fairs and great internship assistance. The tuition is much higher than that of NYU and the scholarship while generous, doesn't cover much. I would have to look to loans and aid to cover the chunk. The research areas are also nice with opportunities to work in regenerative medicine, tissue engineering and cancer biology at the northwestern school of medicine. At this point, I don't know which school to consider because I would gladly go to any of them as they are both great schools and I'm privileged to be considered for both. I don't know if Northwestern is worth taking out large loans for in comparison to NYU that the tuition is mostly covered by scholarship. I can't imagine which program would make me stand out with limitless opportunities at the end of the duration. I need any suggestions, opinions, ideas and help that would enable me to see some light.. Thank you!!
