Hi! I am a student at UNC Chapel Hill and only started taking SLP pre-reqs my junior year, and in the years before this I was a nursing/PA student with a low GPA. My GPA in pre-reqs is a 3.7/3.8, and my overall GPA is a 3.1. My GRE scores are alright... 159 V, 153 Q, 5.5 W. I have lots of experience working with my desired community (children) and am looking to participate in research this coming semester (I will be a senior in Fall 2018.) I am also going abroad this summer to Belize and volunteering at a clinic there. I guess what I'm wondering is.. do I have a chance anywhere? With that low of a GPA, but good LOR, experience, and what not, can I still get into my desired programs? Programs I know I'll be applying to are UNC, UNCG, ECU, App State, U of Tenn, U of Memphis, FSU, U of Florida. Programs I may be applying to are UCF, Jacksonville, Radford, NC Central, Western, GWU, etc. Thanks for any help, I am very worried lol

Who is headed to Gainesville this fall? I have been admitted into the Behavioral & Cognitive Neuroscience program and will be moving down in July. Preferably there would be a group of first year students from around the university whom could get to know each other before the fall semester kicks off.

Hello, Can people give me their opinions/ranking on any of the schools (Statistics PhD): UCLA, UF, Texas A&M I've been admitted into these schools, and I'm having hard time deciding... My opinion: UCLA -seems good for industry jobs (i.e. data science), since located in LA -course load seems heavy on machine learning (good) -expensive to live in though (apartment/food worries...) UF -course load seems to be more oriented toward traditional statistics (no machine learning courses) -I heard they're theoretical heavy (good) -located in my hometown (wouldn't have to worry about life stuff, i.e. cost of living, food, etc.) Texas A&M -I heard they're a very large department that does mostly applied stuff -I'm not that worried about the cult life thing Bio: -Undergraduate: UNC Chapel Hill, Graduating in May 2017 with Bachelors in Stats, Math -US Citizen -Hoping more for industry than academic job Thank you so much!

So far I have been accepted to USF - UF - FSU - Vanderbilt - Nebraska. I am still waiting on Baylor, and I doubt I will attend either of the other two I am waiting on. So if any graduate student has any feedback about any of these schools, I would love to hear it! Right now Vanderbilt is my first choice, but obviously finances play a partial role in the decision, and I still don't have all the information yet. One of my other main concerns is to have a lot of freedom in my choice of clinical setting, and my primary interest right now is Medical SLP. Also, for UF I could feasibly live at home, which is an hour away. Is this doable?

I just accepted my offer for the University of Florida's Pharmacodynamics program in their College of Pharmacy. I saw that the IDP for the college of medicine has been making decisions and the south campus is pretty interconnected. So are there any other future Gators on the forum?
