  1. I'm thinking about applying for grad programs outside of the US. Has anyone had experiences or sucess with this? What are some good programs to consider?
  2. By the time I had the idea to apply to graduate programs abroad, I had already applied to 6 schools in the states and was exhausted by the application process. I couldn't choose my top choice school due to the price tag scaring me, and it scared me enough to accept a seat at the cheapest school (also the coldest and farthest drive). I have already lived and worked abroad during my gap years, so I don't know why this idea never came to mind! Essentially my question is: Is it common to transfer graduate programs after a year or a semester? Going to another anglophone country that is recogni
  3. Hi, Wanted to share the new scholarship launched by GyanDhan: https://www.gyandhan.com/gd-scholarship As per the scholarship: How Does GyanDhan Scholarship Work? GyanDhan scholarship is a financial aid of a fixed amount which will be granted to students based on the merit and strength of the profile submitted. Who Can Apply? Students who fit in as per the below-mentioned criteria: Students who want to pursue a 2-year postgraduate course in the US, Canada, UK, Australia, Ireland, New Zealand & Germany. Students who are in the process of applying or have
  4. Hi everyone! I'm curious to know if any Americans on here have decided to pursue doctoral studies in clinical psychology in the UK. If so, I'd love to hear more about your story (Were you able to practice in the UK afterward? Did you decide to go back to the US to practice instead? Did you have issues with either of those two routes work eligibility-wise? Etc.). Since this tends to be more of a unique case, "Americans hoping to study/practice clinical psychology in the UK" turns up some pretty murky Internet search results, so I'd love some insight. ?
  5. I am an international student (American) starting my MSc in physics at ETH in Zurich this autumn. I've done a lot of research on the internet looking for funding and have come up with nil. I tried applying for federal (US government) loans but ETH is not listed as one of the eligible schools. I contacted one of the professors in the department and they said they cant take employees without at least a masters. I looked into being a teaching assistant but I cant apply until after the first semester (and I do not speak a terrible amount of German, but I will be learning over the summer). I was ho
  6. Hello all, A bit more of a non-traditional background here. I was an econ 'math-light' major in undergrad. Started to get interested in statistics after a year long course in econometrics my senior year (lower level - no prerequisites in multivariable calc or linear algebra if you can believe it...). I didn't feel overly satisfied with continuing on a finance track as a profession, and decided to jump into the maths after I graduated. Over the past year plus I have been working from the ground up taking courses in mathematics, statistics, and computer science, and have loved
  7. Hi! I'm interested in applying to Masters of Marketing and/or Masters of Management (Marketing) programs. I was wondering if anyone has completed either the Masters of Marketing at Trinity College Dublin or Masters of Management (Marketing) at University of Melbourne? If anyone has partaken in either can you let me know your experience? Did you find that it was easy to acquire work once back in the U.S.? Where did you go to search for scholarships to fund your studies? If you have any other recommendations for schools I should apply to that offer these programs please let me know.

  9. Hello. I am currently pursuing a degree in biology here in the U.S. and have a cumulative GPA of 3.7 (this is my last year). I have been looking at various MSc degrees abroad (e.g. Germany, Belgium, Austria, Norway, and Russia). I'm still trying to figure out which program to pursue. I want to focus on water resources, oceanography, limnology, fisheries, marine science/bio, environmental engineering, or something along those lines. Right now I'm leaning towards Belgium, Austria, or Norway and spend a year in Russia before I begin my studies to teach English and learn Russian (I am fascinated w
  10. Hi everyone, I have a BA (2:1) in English and and MA (Merit) in Classics and Ancient History from 2 different universities in the UK. After completing my MA I joined the business world and have been out of academia since 2013- so 3 years. I would like to return to university and do a PhD in Literature, but not in the UK; rather, in Europe. I've had a look at the PhD Portal website, and there are some universities abroad that offer courses in English, but I'm concerned about the procedure. Did any of you apply to do a humanities related PhD abroad and if so, how did you find it? How do I go abo
  11. Does anyone know of any audiology programs that let you complete coursework abroad? I know there is a demand for audiologists in third world countries but does anyone know of any programs that have audiology volunteer in other countries (including developed countries)? I'm currently trying to decide which schools to apply to and being able to apply my knowledge and help individuals in need is a big factor for me. Thanks for any help!
  12. All, I have graduated with a BS. in Computer Engineering, and have 1 year of grad school in Electrical Engineering under my belt. I withdrew this past year because I didn't have the finances to continue (working part time, company not helping and paying for tuition wasn't cutting it) My idea now is to go to school in the EU, and switch up my degree program a little bit. After working in a cubicle the last few years I think that I'm not suited to be a conventional EE and want to get into the management side of things. I have been looking for dual Masters degres in engineering and business,
  13. A few years ago I left a top20 biomedical science PhD program in the US after two years of training. Most of the labs w/ funding in my research area left the school, so there were more students than available mentors. When I left, ¾ of the students in my research area did not have a lab at the end of our 2nd year. I also did not really like the area I was living in or the institution, so I decided to cut my losses and leave the program. I left before my prelim and I was so burnt out at the time I did not try to get a masters degree (would have had to find lab to fund me and stay there several
