  1. I got accepted at California University of Pennsylvania on April 11th and was wondering if there was a Facebook group link for the fall 2018 cohort?
  2. Hi everyone,,, I got accepted only in two of the universities I applied to, but got a waiting list in another two that I prefer. However, I know that I got April 15th as a deadline to accept or reject offers. So what if I accept the offer of one university, but then after April 15th (when perhaps someone rejects their offer in one of the universities I got a waiting list for), I get an offer from that university. What would I do? Is it possible for me to decline from the first university I accepted its offer before April 15th & accept the offer of my preferred one (the one that gave me an offer after April 15th, because I'm on a waiting list)? Another question is that, one of the two universities that accepted me, put me on a waiting list for its teaching assistantships (I wouldn't be able to afford studying without an assistantship). So should I accept the offer, & wait until April 15th when perhaps someone else would reject their offer of an assistantship? Is it possible that I accept the offer of the two universities (one I got an assistantship, & one I got wait-listed for an assistantship) so I wouldn't lose any of them before the deadline of April 15th? Oh my God, what a mess!!! I'm so depressed for not getting offered in my preferred university!
  3. Hi. Let's say one is offered acceptance into an experimental/social psychology PhD program at an okayyy school (but full tuition waved + stipend) AND offered acceptance into psychology terminal masters program at a much better school -- say NYU -- (however no stipend or tuition waived)...... which should he choose? NYU was my top school, but I was only accepted for terminal MA without funding. But I also have an offer right now with full funding for PhD program. It's just not a very prestigious program -- recent doctorates of this program aren't getting great jobs in academia. I should mention that if I choose the terminal MA, I would of course apply to PhD programs following it (with the hopes of getting into better PhD programs than the one I am accepted to now). I am a graduating undergrad senior (GPA 3.77; V - 161; Q - 156) Thank you.
  4. Hi folks, Anyone who has applied to the school of engineering (Lassonde) at York U got something, any news? I'm kinda starting to freak out as I submitted all docs on Jan 26 and deadline was Feb 8 but still nothing. I've applied to start on this fall. My status on MyFile has been so far "No decision yet". Thanks
  5. I am trying to gauge admissions outcomes for the upcoming admissions cycle for MA programs in international development and affairs. If you could, please include the following information in your response: GPA: GRE (Verbal/Math/Writing) Applied: Accepted: Rejected: Waitlist: description of relevant work experience and other factors: Thank you!
  6. Hi So I've accepted an offer from a graduate school online and am now wondering whether there are some additional steps I need to take to officially accept the offer (e.g. mail the school a signed acknowledgement of acceptance). Where I come from, the process of accepting grad school offers is somewhat more complicated and usually involves quite a lot of hard copy documentation. Is simply clicking the Accept button enough?

    When to Accept Offer

Hi, I have been accepted to Purdue and recommended for the Purdue Doctoral Fellowship. I understand that it is a competitive award so I would like to increase my odds of getting it. Is there any advice on if it's advantageous to commit myself to Purdue early to increase my odds of getting this fellowship? Or are they more likely to award me the fellowship to try to get me to go there if I have not yet accepted the offer to attend Purdue? Any suggestions and experience with this would be helpful. Thanks in advance.
  8. So I've been wait listed at two schools I was very interested in Attending and this other one that wasn't my top choice but has a very good program(Big department, lots of research I'm interested in and lots of funding). I am wondering if I should just bite it and forget about those other guys who clearly didn't see value in me. I am leaving to hike across the continent in a month anyway I want to forget about it all and enjoy my life.

    Deposit to Secure spot..

I was accepted into NYU MSW program, a mere two weeks after I submitted my application. NYU only gave me 4 weeks to accept or decline the offer. They ask for a non-refundable deposit of $300. I am still waiting to hear back from every single other school I've applied to. Can I pay the deposit, and later, perhaps, decide to go elsewhere? Will other schools know of my acceptance?
  10. Hi, has anyone heard anything from these universities for masters of computer science? If so, can you tell me the date and whether you are international or home stydent there?
