Hi everyone, I need some help figuring out which degree I should pursue. I'm an entry-level coordinator of undergraduate student programs. My career is going to be focused on College Access, Equity, and Success. I want to explore this in a variety of professional opportunities such as college counseling in high schools and education nonprofits, student affairs, education policy, and eventually teaching. I know that I wouldn't dive into policy and teaching until way later in my career when I've built up an extensive amount of professional experience in the field. Which means as of now I'll be f

Hello all! Longtime lurker, first time poster. Is anyone else here going out for any Theatre/Arts Management/Administration masters? This is my first year applying for grad schools so I really just dipped my toes in the water to test it out, though the eternal pessimist in me is telling me to not expect much this year. Most of my deadlines were at the beginning of January, so I know we still have a while to wait, but it's definitely difficult! Does anyone else have any stories/anecdotes/updates/etc., or just want to chat about the process? Best of luck to all!

I am in purgatory waiting for a decision on masters programs at Maryland, George Mason, Missouri, Colorado, and Georgetown. The programs are in Public Administration, Public Policy, and Public Affairs. Has anyone else applied for a program at one of these schools and heard back? If not, let’s play the waiting game together!

If you were accepted to a university who offered you an opportunity to apply for a significant grant, and then for two weeks despite repeated requests has failed to provide you with the necessary materials to complete the application, how would you feel? The department has expressed great interest in me and been thoroughly welcoming, but the administrative failure to provide me with what I need has me balking at acceptance. This feels like a harbinger of things to come. Am I overreacting? Or is it fair to assume that this may well be indicative of a more pervasive problem?

I've gotten offers from Queen's MPA program and Ryerson MA in Public Policy and Administration. I'm leaning towards Queen's; their program is ten months and offers a co op program at the end. Ryerson is 1.5 - 2 years with field study opportunity. Queen's seems like it has a more diverse bank of courses, a lot of which stand out to me. Is anyone out there in a similar position or have experience that could shed light on how the two programs compare? Thanks!
